First: yes, this is a 'pass through' pump, and allows fuel to flow when off. I use it to prime my carb after my truck has been sitting for 2+ days. I have it on a momentary, push-button switch, and i prime it for 3-5 seconds then crank it over, and my mechanical pump takes over from there.It has been working (though I run it just a few seconds at a time) for several months- still strong.

My Yamaha 150hp 4 stroke outboard would lose prime every so often. After connecting this pump and wiring into ignition switch never had problem again. Wish I tried it 5 years ago. Would have saved me a lot of money at the repair shop that could never sovle my problem.

I installed this pump back at the fuel tank on a 55 Chevy using 1/8NPT to 6AN adapters. The car has a standard 3/8" steel fuel line running up front with a regular inline fuel filter (WIX 33033) on the suction side of this pump. This pump put out 5 PSI at the Holley carb without any regulation. Big downside is it quite a bit noisier than the cylindrical style pumps. You can hear it over glasspacks!!! Wouldn't recommend this one. And if your running any of these external electric fuel pumps regardless of type or brand please buy and carry a spare with you at all times!! They simply don't have the longevity of an in tank or engine mounted mechanical pump. Make your install easy to change on the side of the road too without hassle (6AN connections ect.)

The install manual did not reference any thread sealant but do yourself a favor so you don't have to install, uninstall, and reinstall due to slight fuel leak. Use high performance thread sealant on male threads in NPT connections (filter on inlet side and flared connection on output side). Permatex high performance and high temperature use the word FUEL in the acceptable applications so it should not erode over time. After sealing the threads this unit worked great.

Installed it on a 1978 Ford rather than dealing with the old mechanical pump. Helped with the vapor lock in summer time, and was pretty easy to set up. Would buy another one if I needed a simple low hp stock replacement on a vehicle.

Pump would only make 3 psi max and would drop off below 1 psi, it had thread tape pieces In the threads so even though I can't return it, it looks like someone did.
It work. But will not support hire power
It functions and dose what it’s meant to do but. There isn’t a chance it will support 300 hp as claimed. I ran it on my sbc 305 with a Holley double pumper and mild cam and it would sucks the float boils dry in under 30 second at 3500rpm .. that being said it may be ok for a completely stock 2 barrel set up
