5.0 out of 5 stars Great relief for my neuropathy
I bought these shoes a little over a year ago to replace some other Keens I had purchased over a year prior to that. The prior pair were the Flint 2 low steel toe. Another very nice shoe which I will review on its page.I went with Keen because their shoes fit my feet so well. I have idiopathic peripheral neuropathy which means I have nerve pain in both my feet but I don't have diabetes. If my feet aren't properly supported, by mid afternoon of trudging around, the soles of my feet can feel as if they have been lit on fire.I live on a small homestead farm so we have a few goats, cows, pigs and horses as well as a bunch of dogs to tend to. I have to deal with lots of 50lb bags of feed, putting up fencing, moving hay, walking on rough, sometimes muddy ground. I used to wear 5" rise boots for ankle support but my ankles have strengthened up enough to be able to get by with the low profile shoe which is a little bit cooler in this Texas summer heat. These aren't waterproof but a low shoe that's waterproof is really not offering that much protection so to me it wasn't that big a deal. They seemed to do a decent enough job of keeping my foot dry working in wet and soggy areas.I went with the soft toe in these as opposed to the steel toe. I was having problems of my socks getting destroyed by me unconsciously lifting my toes up against the steel toe. My socks and toes have fared much better with these shoes. The heavy rubber cap has done a very nice job of providing protection while being soft enough not to cause damage to my socks or toes. Because these are substantially built they are a little heavier than other shoes with mesh but still lighter than those with the steel toe.Traction has been good on all types of surfaces. I have a large wooden deck and a couple of ramps on my property that can get quite slick after they get wet. I have not had problems with these slipping out from under me.The laces are fairly good and hold a knot well but the outer sheath on one did wear through at one of the lace loops at around 8 months of nearly daily wear. I would recommend buying a second pair of laces.I have worn these shoes nearly every day and have not babied them in any way. Only thing I've done other than spray off mud from the soles and change broken laces, the uppers and soles have really held up well. They do look well worn but do not have any tears or holes. The insoles have not held up as well. Some of the cloth covering has rubbed off and they have split around the heel cup. This has effected the feel of the shoe enough to where I'm looking to either replace the insole or buy a new pair. I do not fault the manufacture of the shoe at all. Any work shoe that is used hard is going to eventually break down and wear out. Make them any tougher and they won't be comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe. Well worth the cost.

Buy a size larger than you need. Fit is small.
5.0 out of 5 stars Fast and easy
Very comfortable
3.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy shoe for the workplace.. with a few issues.
I've tried numerous brands and styles of safety toe in my adult life. This is my first experience with Keen. I bought these as a replacement for my combat boots that I wore during the later part of my military career. I now work in a machine shop and I am on my feet, on oily concrete, for about 10 hours a day. Some days I'm walking nonstop, some days I'm standing in the same spot the entire time, some days I'm crouched, hunched, or on the trapeze 40 feet in the air on a beam. I needed a shoe that could handle all of that without killing my feet/legs/back. The two biggest reasons for buying these are my back/leg pain from my old ones, and with winter approaching, the slippery heel of the combat boots. Those things might as well be ice skates.I've had these for several weeks now. Out of the box, I could tell they are going to last a while. It had nice thick, sturdy leather, a scuff resistant material covering the toe and lower arch, and a good tread. The insole seemed okay at the time. Upon trying them on, they fit well but didn't feel much different than my old boots in the comfort category. I figured they just needed to be broken in.On the first day at work with them, I noticed several things. I used a hiker's lacing to keep my heel as far back as possible because they were a little snugger around the toe than anticipated.. bad idea. The "padding" at the top of the shoe put a nice sized indent into my achilles that was almost too painful to bear after 10 hours of wear. I also noticed the heaviness and bulk of the shoe, most likely a product of it's sturdy construction. There is so much padding around the ankle that wearing normal slacks can be annoying when they ride up on top of the shoe after kneeling or getting out of the car. Day two was somewhat better. I used a modified hiker's lace to give me a little more room. Unfortunately that made the bunching of the pant leg a little worse. After several days of adjusting, as well as them breaking in a little (very stiff leather at first), they are actually nice to wear. However, even after several weeks, I still suffered from back and foot pain at the end of the day. I turned my attention to the insole. After pulling the removable one out a few days ago, I noticed it was very worn and now hard as a rock. I immediately hopped online and ordered a pair of gels. I got them today so stay tuned on an update on that. After a short test drive this afternoon, the gels seem, by far, way more comfortable than the original inserts. I'll keep you posted.Pros:- Well built and sturdy- Great slip resistance- Excellent foot protection (saved mine a few times already) and scuff resistance- Look cool (I've gotten several positive comments)Cons:- Heavy and bulky- Horrible "foot bed" (insole)- Very long break in time- Price (I payed $147)Bottom line:So far, overall, these are just okay. If you want a shoe that will protect your tootsies and still look nice in a hostile environment, these might be a good option, but if you are looking for out-of-the-box comfort, I say look elsewhere.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sizes Run Small
The boots are wonderful, but they run small compared to other KEEN boots. I normally wear a size 10D, but in these, I needed an 11D.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great work shoe
This is my second pair. I got my first from a local boot shop. They have lasted over a year I replaced the insert about 8 months in to get more life and comfort. I work in a warehouse as a maintenance technician so I am always on my feet on concrete and these shoes beat any redwing shoe. They are a little heavier than others but hold up way better. I would recommend to anyone and 2 of my coworkers have switch to them and love them.
Wow

Comfy, roomy but not too loose. A fairly heavy duty boot with a nice but not too tall defined heel. We'll see about durability but for under $100 (not sure why) you can't go wrong. Just one more pair of Keen's to my collection. Plain black they look great, medium as far as weight, not light but not over heavy.
The most comfortable work boot ever.
I've worn and worn out a lot of Keen boots, and these are the most comfortable I have ever bought. They aren't exactly feather light but they aren't overly heavy either. They can be tied up tightly and your foot feels firmly in place, no blisters or fatigue after wearing all day. My feet stayed dry in the rain as well. Note: They do seem to run a half size smaller than older Keen boots/shoes? I have others that I got over a year ago in a size 9, and newer Keens I have tried on in 9 simply do not fit. So I have had to go a half size up, 9 to 9.5 for all Keen boots when my old ones are size 9. Expensive but worth it when you're on your feet all day.
best boots ever
don't know were to start super comfy bla bla bla
Good fit
I walk 10 hours at work on it everyday for nearly a year, feet don't get as tired, so far nothing has fallen apart.
Awesomistic!!!!
This is the best pair of boots I have ever worn. For the Canucks ordering these there is no green CSA sticker but they are steel toe. I wear these up to 17.5 hrs a day (work two great jobs) and walk up to 5 miles daily and they are comfortable and surprisingly light for a solid work boot!! 6’4” and close to 300lbs and these boots have been put through hell and back and are holding up well. Only drawback is that I have worn out my first set of laces but the soles and leather have held up beyond expectations. You could wear these anywhere they look so good!! 5/5 stars +++++++
