Much of the music sounds vaguely familiar, if you've been listening to contemporary jazz. Nothing new, but more of the same energy that Chuck Loeb and Jeff Lorber have been producing for years. Some of the songs sound like slightly altered takes from their earlier, separate works. Not unpleasant, but the same groove all over again. Produced with great arrangements, talent, musianship and engineering. Notable tracks are Adrenaline and Raccoon. Where do they get these names?

Rarely do I hand out 5 stars, but this album warrants it. It's got a perfect blend of slower tunes and uptempo jams. The music is fantastic, which should surprise no one when considering the pedigrees of the individual artists who comprise Jazz Funk Soul. What really pushes this disc into 5-star territory for me is that this is an album that can be unobtrusive background music if you want it to, or it can be an album that you fully immerse yourself in. I can't say that about too many albums! Highly recommended.

Nice album . A collaboration that works well . I've been a fan of all three guys individually and they obviously work well together / compliment each other . A good listen if you're a smooth jazz fan .

What happens when you add the great Jeff Lorber to fine artists like Everette Harp, & Chuck Loeb?Jeff creates magic. He sprinkles his tracks, compositions, and studio leadership to transform the latter to become his equals...Lorber brings out the best with every artist he works with.Even though Loeb is a member of "Fourplay", he works with another master in Bob James, he lets Lorber's creative juices flow even further.Same for Harp, he worked with other fine studio artisits, but again JHL pushes his soul to new heights!

Wow!! Waited for this CD since they told me in April at the Berks Jazz Fest that it was coming out. It does not disappoint. When listening to the tracks, it is fun trying to figure the style and who wrote each song.All 3 performers are excellent, as well as the backup performers. A must have for the collection, cannot wait to see them in Concert in September.

extremely dissapointed as I am a BIG Jeff Lorber fan. Everette harp is a favorite and Chuck can play, as part of Fourplay today. Thought this would be much better.

Le style de ces trois musiciens est excellent, mais sur cet album, je trouve qu'ils ne donnent pas le maximum...De plus, la qualité du mastering n'est pas excellente, le bas médium des instruments manque de clarté à mon goût.Je suis un peu surpris par ce son assez vintage...

Normally I am a smooth Jazz fan but I took a chance in getting this CD which they class as Modern Jazz. To be fair I am hooked on this CD even after the first play. You have 3 greats of the Jazz world who really set this CD alight with there playing ( Jeff Lorber/ Chuck Loeb/ and Everette Harp ). If you are a bit hesitant about buying go onto Bolo USA and listen to sample tracks.
