The battery lasts just more than 30 minutes.I have one acre and I can get at least half of it done on one charge. Brought 6 years ago. Still going strong. I use it twice a week for about an hour each time spring thru fall. Mostly on yard edging.Even with a broken wrist it is light enough to use a strap around my neck and kept going. I bought a larger battery other then that, just awesome for the price.

Got yesterday, charged battery- started using today. I believe it works well- EXCEPT- it’s constantly shutting down. I got about 8 minutes of work done and even though it starts back up, within a second, shuts back down. Definitely not happy with this aspect! It’s gonna take me days at this rate, that is… if it gives me another 8 minutes of working! If things change I will updateUPDATE ** the first charge must have not taken on the unit- charged again and it’s staying on and working. Definitely suggest overnight 8-10 hoursCharging battery all night. Using a few times a week to keep from having to full blown mow- batteries not lasting long enough to weedeat around a 20x 20 area- just the outskirts of my small garden area! But great tool- horrible battery life!

I am pleasantly surprised with this product. The battery life and also the trimmer itself are much better than I expected and well worth the money. I would recommend this trimmer for grass and light weed trimming.

Only been using black and decker brands. They have great equipment; wish I could say the same about their batteries. Only used the machine once and did a fabulous job. As for the battery, worked for 5 minutes with a full charge. Luckily for me I have other black and decker batteries that works well. I have purchased or received 8 batteries and only 5 been great. Two batteries would only last around 5, maybe 6 minutes. One battery would not work at all, complete junk. Enjoy black and decker equipment, flip a coin on the batteries.

It has an auto feeder so if the line breaks you don't have to stop and pull more out. As many of the other reviews stated the refills are pricey but there are less expensive options. This purchase was worth the money spent.

Nice and light little tool. Takes 5 hours to charge the battery and one the first charge it only lasted 20 mins. Second charge just over 30. Hoping it will increase a bit more. Buy a replacement nylon when you order as the one with the product is super short. Oh and this is imported from the US so you need a step-down converter as well. Kind of working out expensive!
light weight and no assembling needed !
First of all, I'm not a handywoman at all. I was spoiled to have others /guys did it for me. Under the current circumstances, I have left with a DIY option or wait till all the weeds are 2 feet high.I was nervous to buy lawn equipment online and to use it the first time. After spending more time research than waiting for the delivery, I finally got it three days ago on Bolo prime. Today I was brave enough to open the box and pleasantly found that it is not only super light but also well-built and needs no tools for assembling it. ok, you only need a screwdriver to take the only screw out and put it back when connecting to the main part of the equipment. after charging the battery for about 4-5 hours. I went out to test it. Wow, I am so excited by how easy and effortless this trimmer operates. After spending a good half an hour cleaning up front and backyards weeds, and flower beds, the battery is still working fine. I’m very happy and pleased with the first lawn equipment I own and use it without tears or frustration. Ladies, be brave and try this one, you will like it. now you know why guys call their tools toys. I enjoy using it and the result is amazing too. who does not like a fresh-cut and weed-free lawn?
Medium duty
I bought this based on the 20vMax L-ion battery which is the same as my hedge trimmer. My old B&D edger has a ni-cad battery no longer available. Old edger is fine but the battery doesn’t hold a charge very long. This new edger is lighter in weight but it’s also shorter. The motor on the new one is a disappointment compared to the old one but it’s good enough for edging and moderate trimming. Even with a weaker motor I prefer the new one for edging because it has a better angle while edging. The weaker motor probably gives longer battery life. This trimmer is a good value for low to medium duty. For heavy duty use look elsewhere.
Worked great right out of the box (after charging)
There's a lot to like about this little trimmer. It's relatively lightweight, easy to use, and has enough power for a cordless to make you not regret buying it. The packaging nests the charger out of sight inside what might first be mistaken as just a piece of cardboard to hold the handle secure in the to of the box. If you're not looking for it, you might toss out the battery charger with the box - so keep that in mind. The battery is supposed to take 5 hours to charge from nothing, but I think it only took about 3 hours - either way, you probably won't be using it out of the box. Assembly instructions are provided, but it was so straight forward, I didn't bother reading them, and had it pieced together inside five minutes. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver for a single screw. After I charged it up, I went out to attack the weeds that had been growing unchecked for the last month, and was pleased at the performance. It was able to chew through four foot tall thistles (with a bit of work - they *are* nasty, fibrous, sons of guns if you let 'em grow) with out much trepidation - and could eat through normal grass in a single, unyielding pass.I picked mine up for $85 in June 2018, so my review reflects that price point. Seller shipped quickly, and all arrived as it ought to have. I'd recommend this for anyone who wants to ditch the cord, or the noise (and heft) of a gas powered trimmer.
