This infamous pink pack of baking powder is a bit different than the stuff you probably have at home; instead of double acting (when mixed with liquid and again when heated), French Alsa Baking powder is single acting, meaning it works as soon as you mix it. Each comes with 7 little satchets that hold 1 tbsp of baking powder. Use it to make breads, cakes and experiment. Since it reacts with liquids, you’ll want to bake right away or your bread, pastry or cake could fall flat! Alsa French Baking powders have been using the same formulation for the last 100 years. Since I do not bake often, I like having single packets to keep the baking powder fresh. I don't know why American manufacturers don't do the same thing, except perhaps force consumers to buy the larger packages and have to replace them. I recommend this product to those people who don't bake frequently.
