This is a high strength neodymium magnet. The magnet its self is covered in a layer of rubber with a hook that swivels. How strongly the magnet attaches to your surface will depend on the type and amount of ferrous metal in your surface.I picked up this magnet for a specific purpose. I wanted something I could hang on my wall without drilling holes in the wall so I could use the hook to hang my headset on. It is strong enough that it easily grabs onto a screw/nail in the stud and will hold my headset (plus a second bluetooth headset as well). For my application it won't hold a ton of weight, but it's easily enough to hold the two headsets I currently have hanging from it. But if you were to use it on a fridge or something more along those lines you should get much more pull from the magnet (though keep in mind that fridge walls are pretty thin, so you still won't likely get full strength).Overall this is working very well for my purposes and I would absolutely recommend it for the same or similar purposes.

These are Amazingly Strong magnets for their size and have the added benefit of a smooth plastic surface to keep them from scratching the surface they are applied to. I have them all over my tool boxes and benches in our garage, carport and other work areas and have been extremely impressed with their capabilities. Recently I had a need to hang a small, portable scale to get bit out of my wife’s “junk drawer” in the kitchen and realized this hook magnet was the perfect solution to mount it on the side of the refrigerator—now the scale is out of the way but readily accessible and my Bride is happy AND EVERYONE knows when Mama is happy...

I purchased this specifically so I could hang my purse while a work. I just moved to a new desk and have less drawers, so didn't have a space for my purse. This product had good reviews and the fact that it could hold up to 65lbs was what drew me in. While my purse isn't 65lbs, it's quite heavy with all the "Mom" stuff I carry and this magnet/hook does the job splendidly. I'm now looking for more things I need to hang just so I can buy another one.

Love these hook. The finish on these is excellent and the magnetic power is awesome.I'm a quilter and my cutting table is a Husky nine drawer mobile work bench that houses all of my rulers/templates, pins/needles, cutting supplies, machine and hand embroidery supplies, projects, etc. Love it! There's a few items that are just too big or cumbersome to put into drawers but that still need to be close at hand. That's where these magnetic hooks come into play. Since the cutting table is metal everywhere except the top and only one side has drawers, I have three sides to hang my tools from. I know I could use magnetic hooks that have less power but I really do like the stability of the 65 pound capacity ones and I never have to worry about someone bumping up against one and causing it and its contents to crash to the floor...it just ain't gonna happen! (We also have one of these Husky work benches in the garage...obviously these hooks work great out there as well.)These magnets do NOT slip (although I have never tried to put 65 pounds on it to test it's maximum capacity). In fact, I needed to reposition one recently and that was a bit of a chore because it sticks so well to metal.I highly recommend this product. Bolo has a great price for these. The first ones of these I bout last year I got from Homers for nearly $3 more per magnet. Thanks Bolo XXXOOO..

I have some mondo Norpro stainless measuring spoons whose handles are very long. I love them, but they are beasts and don't really fit in my drawers. I use this magnet in conjunction with my magnetic knife bar to hang them, and it works perfectly. I haven't tried it w/ anything truly heavy, and I'm not sure having the double magnet situation doesn't alter how it would perform otherwise, but so far, so good.

I got a couple of these to replace some old hooks that just weren't holding their weight. They're very strong; I have to pull hard to get them off the fridge. The back has a rubber coating that both prevents scratching AND gives them a lot of sliding friction so they won't slip down. The hook is made of stronger thicker wire than you get on some competing products, and it's shaped to keep the weight as close to the fridge as possible for minimum leverage. They easily hold my heaviest cast-iron frying pan or my largest pot (see photo). The CONs here are that these cost a bit more and seem to only come in black, but the PROs are that they are well-engineered, work beautifully, and you will love them. :-)

Very strong magnet, I bought it for work to hang my jacket on a metal cabinet - does the job and then some. Highly recommend - seems like it would be very hard to take off/move but that's what you would want with this. Good value, good product - 5 starsUpdate: photo attached shows it holding my coat, scarf and a (mostly) empty tote bag but it would be strong enough to hold a reasonable weight bag. Only issue might be how much you can fit on the hook. Happy with my purchase !
