Many years ago in medical school, I learned about the importance of taking Milk Thistle to cleanse the liver of toxins from the foods and drinks that we consume. The human body amazingly does its best to take care of itself. The liver, every night, automatically rebuilds “some” its tissue that's been lost. (Toxins, etc cause particles of the liver to flake off into your bloodstream). But because most of us have consumed foods that are high in saturated fat at some point or another, and Toxins, our liver needs more than God’s natural cleansing. Therefore, this is where Milk Thistle is an amazing asset!!! For decades, I have taken Milk Thistle “nightly,”?along with other nutritional supplements such as coral calcium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin K. Milk Thistle should be taken at night so that it can work at the same time as the body does to “rebuild” the liver. Each morning, I take several nutritional supplement's, and have been on this regimen for several decades! Fortunately, my health remains superb🙏. This Puritan's Pride Milk Thistle is a skinny medium-length softgel that I find to be swallowed with ease. I tried other brands (some were longer and/or wider softgels), but I have found this Puritan’s Pride to the “perfect size” to swallow. “Consuming foods that are high in saturated fat” can definitely cause the liver to harden over time, thus cause inflammation, which can easily incur Cirrhosis of the liver. (Many people think that Cirrhosis is caused only by alcohol, but that is false). I have always hosted a lot of parties over decades, and have told all of my friends about this particular Milk Thistle…As a result, MOST of them have latched onto it over the years and still take it faithfully. I am all for doing everything I can to stay healthy. And, this Puritan’s Pride Milk Thistle does a beautiful job on the liver. My blood test results continue to prove that Milk Thistle is amazing. My liver enzymes continue to remain in perfect range. Having a CMP (Comprehensive Metabolic Panel) tested in your bloodwork will determine the health of your liver (testing ALT, AST, and ALP). I am a certified phlebotomist, who believes in taking preventative measures to prevent harm to the human body. This is why I always include a CA-19.9 (blood test) in my annual bloodwork. Everyone has cancer cells in their body… And, the CA-19.9 blood test determines whether or not any of those cancer cells have become active in the “abdominal region.” As we all know, if we catch cancer, it’s best to catch it at Stage 1 than it is at Stage 2, 3, or 4. So I ask for a CA-19.9 blood test annually with hopes of never contracting cancer in the abdominal region. (Fortunately for me, the CA-19.9 costs me nothing). In conclusion, maintaining healthy liver function is just as important. Many thanks to Puritan’s Pride for creating such an amazing product that continues to keep me a perfect health.

Look at my results! I got blood work done last December of 2024, my Alt was very elevated. My doctor told me it was cause for concern and that further testing and treatment to avoid bigger complications ahead was needed. My liver was inflamed even when I try to keep an active lifestyle and very rarely consume alcohol. I started looking online for a supplement that could help. I found this highly rated supplement and decided to give it a go. I have religiously been taking two pills every day since that last result; 7 months later my doctor ordered another blood test and surprise! My alt is now perfectly normal and nowhere in the zone where it was before. My doctor was excited and asked what I did different, i told him about this and he told me that although doctors don’t believe in these type of supplements, they wont hurt anything so just keep doing it. I did not take any other supplements or products for my situation, it was just this. So I can confidently say this works and will forever be in my must have supplements.

These were recommended by a friend that is heavily into natural health supplements. I was told they improve digestion health as well as liver health. She told me to try them because I am getting older and she said they do wonders for her. I have took them until they ran out but am not certain how much a difference they made as my digestive issues might have changed slightly but not enough for me to continue to take them. I am certain they are helpful but I found I am not a fan of added pills to have to take daily. I'm not a qualified doctor so I will refrain from suggesting medical advice on these...just check with your physician as I do before taking any supplements that are over the counter.
