What is Citric Acid Citric Acid is a naturally occurring weak organic acid commonly found in lemons, oranges, limes and other citrus fruit. Citric acid is also produced as a by product of the citric acid cycle during metabolism in living organisms. Its also a natural preservative and added to food producing an acidic or sour taste. Citric Acid Properties At room temperature citric acid appears as a white or clear crystalline solid. It melts at 156C and boils as 310C. Citric Acid will dissolve in water; this process is endothermic and reduces the latent temperature of the water as the entropy increases. The molecular formula for Citric Acid (anhydrous) is C6H8O7. Applications for Citric Acid De-scaler - Citric Acid is an excellent chelating agent which helps bind metals. It can be used to removed scale / lime-scale from kettles, boilers and evaporators. Bath Bombs - Citric Acid can be used with Sodium Bicarbonate to produce an effervescent compound forming the basis for any bath bomb. Cosmetics - Citric Acid is used as a pH adjusting agent in cream and gels. Citric Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid and is the active ingredient in most chemical peels. Citric Acid is one of the active ingredients in the production of some antiviral tissues. Photography - Citric Acid is often used as a lower-odor stop bath when developing photographic film. Photography film developing solutions are alkaline and the acidic quality of Citric Acid neutralises and stops development of the film.

Best cleaning and descaling.
We are using this for cleaning and descaling.1 or 2 desert spoon in a kettle of boiled water and left for 20 minuets leaves the inside looking like new. We’ve even used it in our automatic washing machine on an hot 60* cycle and the stuff that came out was a disgusting grey slurry. It really does work very well so I wouldn’t use it too often, only when necessary. 👍

Loved this product perfect sized bag for bath bomb making!! The package came earlier then expected, box looked like it was a little thrown around but the product was perfect when opened! Will definitely be purchasing more of this in the future.
Great for cleaning
Exactly as shown in the product photos. It came securely packaged so it wouldn't burst during transport. Used for cleaning various things around the house. Works well as a cleaner. Not used for food. Pretty good value for money considering its a 1kg bag. Its difficult to use out of it's original plastic bag so I placed it in a different container for use.
Perfect Eco Cleaner
Ive been converted by Nancy Birtwhistle to change all our cleaning products for eco friendly alternatives.It's a slow and steady process using up what we have before we completely switch but I've been getting much better results from the natural products than the supermarket ones so it's a no brainer which I'm using first.It comes in a plastic baggy which you do have to be careful that it's in a waterproof environment otherwise you'll get clumping and the product will be unusable. Some people do decant it into glass jars but I'm trying to avoid buying more stuff.It's got multiple uses, I use it in the pure magic Iiquid and gel product recipes Nancy has created.Be careful when using it as a stain remover though especially if you have sensitive skin or eczema like me, as it is acidic and can irritate. I would recommend to wear gloves if using as a stain remover in case you need to scrub that stain
