How can I explain my new found love, hemp? I was not aware of hemp and it's nutrition until now - wish I had known about it sooner. Did you know hemp has all the essential fatty acids in just the right proportion (very rare)? And it's high in vital minerals our diets usually lack - iron, zinc and magnesium. It's also got the perfect balance of omega 3 to omega 6's (a great, more sustainable source than fish oil). Very rarely is hemp grown with any pesticides etc either, so it's very clean. It's also one of the most highly digestible proteins, unlike whey or soy. The best way to eat hemp apparently is raw (which this seems to state that it is, on the back). When I drink this, I do feel it digesting very easily, in fact it almost feels like a b-12 shot! I assume this is perhaps due to the abundant magnesium. Who knows. I love it.I love that this is high in protein and low in sugar. I am so sick and tired of sugary drinks, finally someone makes something without unnecessary sugar! A rare thing indeed. The 4 grams of sweetness is perfect to me just as is actually (vanilla hemp mixed with almond milk). Or just a banana or some maple if you think it's lacking. I'd rather have low sugar and add some of my own - so much more versatile - thank you Nutiva, please keep it this way! I love the vanilla, will have to try the other flavors eventually. The price is tough, but I have to admit, worth it for what it is - which means a lot, because I do not like spending this much on anything I consume at this pace!PS... this is NOT a pretty drink. Your friends will think you are drinking ground up leaves and mud! A trick to make it less gritty is to pour in just a little bit of your milk into the powder and make a paste, then add the rest so it's not as lumpy. Or use your blender. I prefer almond over soy milk (it tastes better and for what it's worth, soy is hard to digest unless fermented, full of estrogen, and usually a gmo product - all things we try to avoid at our house).

5.0 out of 5 stars I have drank this as a shake with water and did not enjoy it. Maybe it would be better with milk ...

This is hemp protein powder. I prefer to consume this mixed with my oatmeal. It does give the oatmeal a resemblance to horse poop, but is yummy. Does have a slight bitter aftertaste, but it didn't bother me. I have drank this as a shake with water and did not enjoy it. Maybe it would be better with milk or blended, but alone with water it is very gritty and catches in your throat, prolonging the ick-factor. Will keep buying, just won't do shots of it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good and healthy

This powder comes from a plant seed so it has both fiber (4 g per 3 tablespoon serving) and protein (10 grams per serving) which makes it more broadly nutritious (most people need more extra fiber than protein tbh). But you sacrifice protein to get the fiber so if you're trying to protein load it won't be the best. Also 10 g of protein per serving is kind of low. It also has a couple grams of super healthy omega fatty acid, which is great. It has a mild but distinct plant taste which is fine to me but it doesn't taste like a shake or a typical whey based powder. You'll probably want to make it into a smoothy or mix in flavored yogurt, not just mix it with milk. It's also a little high in sugar with 7g per serving (tho lower than a lot of powders or meal replacements like soylent). It also has a very distinct plant green color so if the appearance of your yogurt or shake matters to you, it might not be great. It won't dissolve so it does thicken whatever you add it to and has a little texture. So all in all, it's a ground up seed and that does impact it's taste, color and texture. But it also makes it a lot better for you than most other highly processed protein powders that don't bring much other than protein (and a bunch of added nutrients, basically an added multivitamin). If you're not too sensitive on taste etc., and want more than just protein, its a very good product.

This protein powder tastes surprisingly good and it mixes well when using a personal single serving blender (I haven't used a shaker cup, so I can't say how well that works). The vanilla flavor is fairly light and I don't notice the stevia taste initially, but it does come through with the "greeny" aftertaste. Anyone worried about the 9g of "sugar", at least it isn't that horrid aspartame, it's stevia, which is a natural leafy plant/herb that you can grow in your garden, and is healthier than sugar. I mix mine either with 8oz of milk or coconut milk, 6x half ice cubes (blend easier), and 3tbs of the powder. It tastes way better with the ice cooling it down, and if you blend it for about 45sec, the milk thickens so it's more of a shake texture than a liquid; it isn't gritty, but drink it fast before everything settles. I also like to add this to other 50% whey/50% casein protein mixes, because it adds more protein and is a healthy superfood, I complete that shake with ice, milk and a tbsp of flaxseed, it makes for a good 5AM post cardio shake that holds me over until lunch time.

I’ve been looking for a protein powder that doesn’t 1. Kill my stomach 2. Taste like chalk made from fecal matter 3. Cost $90This stuff is YUMMY. It’s subtle so I can make any type of smoothie and it not overwhelm it. It mixes well. And I love the ingredients. FINALLY, a clean protein powder without monk fruit. Wtf is up with the monk fruit craze? People with sensitive stomachs don’t tolerate monk fruit and it’s in freaking everything “healthy” these days.Anyways. This stuff is a keeper and I’ll forever buy it. I bought vanilla and I’ll always have it stocked. I’ll probably get chocolate too for the occasional rich smoothies but I’m a fruit smoothie girl and vanilla is better.

    Deliciosa

El polvo de proteinas es comodo cuando no quieres perder mucho tiempo en la comida, y alimentarte bien. O después de entrenar. Esta es una de mis marcas favoritas, orgánico, se disuelve perfecto y el sabor es ideal!

Exactly how it should be! (Almost)

No protein powder will taste great on its own. Having heard so much about the awful taste of hemp, I thought chocolate would help. It tasted absolutely fine. I would imagine the plain would be too. I can't understand how everyone went on about taste. If you enjoy healthy foods, this is just another one. Maybe the people trying it eat many processed foods. This is the healthiest vegetarian option out there, as whey is heavily processed and I can't imagine what hormone infested milk they make it from, and soya too had its problems- the debate about soya, it's quality, the estrogen content etc has been a subject of debate for a long time. Hemp has none of these issues. I could only imagine people complaining of the taste as they expect everything to taste like a frappucino. As this is fine, I would think the regular would be too and it would haveorr hemp content than cocoa obviously. One thing that was very wrong with this product was the differing content inside. I ordered two boxes, one was full and one two thirds full. This is especially important for vegetarians as unless you constantly eat boiled eggs and organic cheese- the other would be so bad because of the hornones you may as well not have it- this is perfect clean protein on the go. If people are after taste, they are consuming for the wrong reason. The taste is absolutely fine. It mixes very easily. It was thin after mixing with 200 ml water, so if you want to drink it faster, mix with less. Nothing that I expected after reading all the general hemp reviews

    Brilliant and tasty

Tastes really good with organic honey, banana and dried mulberries. Losing weight fast with this but also exercising every day and eating good balanced meals. Will keep buying this! My only worry is if the packaging is BPA free. If someone can let me know if it is, that would be great. Thank you! Remember to store this in the fridge!

This looks like greenish leafy mud, but tastes really good. I know my description doesn't sound very appealing, but this is my 3rd tub and I really like it. I tried the pomegranate berry one and it's not as good as the chocolate. I mix it with some milk and a banana. I even tried mixing this with orange juice to make a chocolate orange shake, which wasn't bad but you need some extra orange squash or the chocolate flavor will completely overpower the orange. The best taste was blending it with milk and smooth peanut butter... but that probably defies the point of having a shake as a healthy breakfast :) You can get quite creative with this and make it delicious.
