I’ve only tried this on Brass and it did a good job cleaning and polishing. It left a nice shine and quickly removed all oxidation. I’d recommend using it outside or in a well ventilated area because it has a harsh smell. Can’t be good for you to inhale… and I also decided it best to wear some gloves just to be safe.

As a deep cleaner and polisher for a large 50 year old brass handle, it worked absolutely great. This handle not only had 50 years of dirt and oxidation, but also had paint, stain, and varnish all over it bc the previous owner didn’t bother to remove the piece from the door whenever they did anything to the door. This handle has easy to remove screws too, so there was no excuse. It is very ornate too with a lot of crevices so it was everywhere. Worked like a charm, easy to use, worked relatively quickly. Use a toothbrush for best results as ornate pieces won’t be helped by a cloth unless it’s flat. The varnish was the most difficult thing to remove, in some spots I had to let it sit for 10 minutes in a second application, but it all came off! BTW, if you just have a bit of dirt and oxidation, this may be overkill as it is strong (it has ammonia in it) but for tough jobs like the one I had, it’s great. (A polish alone without ammonia would be better for much easier jobs and for maintenance.)

Very versatile metal cleaner at a great price year after year. Can be combined with other products like barkeepers cleaner for increased effectiveness. Works quickly. Can be baked in for sterile cleaning, the rinse and wipe off. Doesn't harm color finish or clear glaze. Cleans most types of metal. Not a rust remover.

Good use for dull colored brassy hardwares and giving life back to my bags and belts. The cleaning power is superior and fast acting with just few wipes. I also tried using this to the bathroom faucet and voila! looks brand new and shiny again.

Excellent! Cleaned up my door handles and they look like new. I got stuck polishing the club trophies. This product worked well on the brass sitting in a closet for 14 years. Easy to work with and although after reading the reviews, I was concerned it would have an odor and it was actually very mild. Shiny trophies now ready to display again. I remember using this product as a kid and having whatever I used it on shine up like a freshly minted penny. That wasn't the case when I tried it on this vintage brass hookah and coffeepot, both from 1980's Saudi Arabia. The pitcher was just tarnished from neglect but somebody had left one of those rock salt votive holders in the bowl of the hookah for a decade or so and the Florida humidity did the rest.Anyway, I'm pretty sure they were genuine brass but the polish didn't do all that great of a job. I only did one application on the teapot and didn't think subsequent attempts would improve it any, so I left it alone. I applied the Brasso to the hookah three times over the course of a few days and it did brighten it a bit, but the tarnish wasn't affected too much. Most of the salt corrosion that came off did so thanks to vigorous scrubbing with a stainless steel wire brush.Also, the directions don't say anything about using it in a well-ventilated area but I highly recommend doing so. I did the pitcher at my bathroom sink and my eyes were watering the whole time. So I did the hookah outside.
