This Prime-Line U 9476 Maximum Security Latch Strike is constructed of stamped steel and comes plated in a chrome finish. This security strike is designed to replace a standard strike plate for maximum security. Installation of this strike strengthens a locked door with six 3 inch long screws that attach to the jack/trimmer stud to help prevent kick-ins. Some mortising and pilot hole drilling may be required for flush install. Please refer to the line art for dimensions and compare with your needs before ordering.

It features a total of six(6) installation holes to ensure strong holding power with 3-inch screws that fasten deep into the door frame, beyond the thickness of the jamb. This 1-1/4 in. x 7-7/8 in. latch strike strengthens and repairs wood jambs, and it helps provide increased security to an entry door's most vulnerable area.

Nice smooth chrome finish, also the screw mounting holes are offset from the standard holes so it is a great replacement for a damaged or stripped standard plate- also the 3 longer screws and larger plate area add security.

Thin, extremely thin and flexible chinesium “steel”. If you are serious about reinforcing your door frame, this is the $1 shop option.

My wood was cracking and unless I replace the wood this would be the cheapest fix I can find. Works great with 6 screw to secure latch strike. Feels very sturdy.

Great product if you like more strength or need to change screw placement
Works well with doors that need more length in the latch area. We had to adjust the height of our door and found this very convenient as it allowed us to put new screw holes in different locations than the prior ones. The four screws also make the launch very secure
