Prestone (both 50/50 and regular) are OAT (Organic Acid Technology) based coolants. This is what you want if your car has a computer in it, unless your manufacturer specifically requires a different formulation (and many do). Coolant formulations should not be mixed (flush first). For older cars, an IAT (Inorganic Additive Technology) would have been the factory supplied coolant and would possibly work better than an OAT as IATs (still) contain additives designed for older cars, specifically, they are designed to be non-corrosive to lead and to inhibit copper corrosion.
