I purchased this about 3 weeks ago and have used it a handful of times since. Based on third party reviews of breathalyzers, this one was rated high among economical cost and accuracy, though not accurate enough to be used in a court room. That said, it's still incredibly accurate and is very easy to use. It takes exactly 13 seconds to "warm up" before you blow into it, and the result is immediate. It comes with multiple mouth pieces for use with friends, and only has to be calibrated about once a year (unless you use it very frequently.) I put it in a tiny ziplock and keep it in my purse at all times. Perfect for making sure I've never had too much wine to legally drive, no matter how "good" i feel.

Now I can check my kids when they come home !I am purchasing 2 more for my kids I have also purchased MULTI-DRUG SCREEN TEST from Health Care- Manager . I am trying to save my kids lives !

This device rarely works, it always says FL. Even when not drinking for several days. I changed the batteries, let it rest for a few days, and it still repeatedly says FL. Occasionally, it will give me a percentage, but it is totally unreliable.

I just had my first child and got this to help my husband and I keep better track of our BAC as we want to be responsible parents but also frequently drink socially and go to breweries. I also use it to track my BAC as I am nursing and pumping milk for my baby. It's great! Everyone metabolizes alcohol differently and there are so many variables (how much you eat, weigh, etc) it is just too hard to guess your BAC. Results seem accurate, you just have to send it in to get calibrated every so often. The negative reviews are probably random defective products (this happens with any product) and folks that need to get their device calibrated but have not. You need to read the manual to see how to properly use it. If used properly it is super helpful. I honestly think anyone who drinks alcohol should have one of these.

It's very cute and fun to play with. Obviously no one knows how accurate it actually is because you would need to compare its number with a cops breathalyzer to know. But it is still fun to have and to see who amongst your friends has the highest and lowest number. Fun toy.

I am in recovery and got these to hold myself accountable to my family. These are nice and compact and pretty much as accurate as the one I have to use at my counseling. Great for a piece of mind, whether using to prove you're not drinking like I am, or just checking before you drive. Can also be a good party trick or good to know when to cut yourself off. Works great and the battery life is pretty good, we got several months out of ours with used multiple times a day.

It doesn't work. Last night I went out to dinner with my husband and had 2 glasses of wine. About an hour later I tested at a .07. I thought it sounded about right (I'm a small person). My husband had 2 24oz beers, and he tested at .00 and hour after dinner-what?? Tonight went to a cook out. He had 4 beers in rapid succession and a few before that. When we got home an hour after the party, he tested .10. Ok that sounds about right. I had 2 beers and a jello shot. An hour later I tested at .00. I followed the instructions and did not have anything to eat or drink for an hour. It seems that you can only test one person per 1/2 hour or so. It also seems pretty inaccurate. I'l probably get an Alcohawk instead.
