UnibondOne is a one-part PVA adhesive formulated for wood veneering and laminating. It is designed to produce an extra hard glue line, allow a long open work time, and block bleed through on commercially sliced veneers. It can also be used as a general assembly adhesive for interior furniture.

I am a professional furniture maker who does a lot of veneer work. This is excellent glue for both caul veneering and vacuum press veneering. It also can be used in complex glue ups as it is a PVA with a longer open time. If people are having problems with this glue it’s their technique that is the problem - not the glue.

The benefits this glue proposes, more open time and less bleed through are no better than Titebond II. Maximum benefit is to coat both substrate and veneer with two coats and allow to dry. Then iron (with heat) the veneer to the substrate. It works beautifully and has a superior bond. Not sure why the price needs to be more than Titebond.

My first encounter with this venerer adhesive didn't go well at all. My vacumm system had failed so I clamped the assembly under caulls. The end result was delamination of the veener in multiple trys. I then chanced upon a You Tube video that intimated that this adhesive and the other name brand had to reduce the amount of formaldehyde in the adhesive. I had never had trouble with the other name brand. So I checked their site on usage and they recommended 100 to 200 psi as well. I had never applied that pressure prior with the other brand. So I rigged up a press using a car jack and 4 inch column over the project . This was placed under the house joist I beam and I applied what I felt imperically would satisfy that pressure. Now all my panels are coming out perfectly!

I purchased this product because it was supposed to be specifically for veneers. It did not work well at all. I had to trash the project and start over because there were so many bubbles and areas of poor adherence. I used exactly the same techniques with regular old TiteBond woodworkers glue and the second go worked fine.Since this product gets good reviews, I suppose it's possible I got an old batch or something. But, even used exactly as directed, this product did not do the exact job it was supposedly designed to do.
