My wife has been using Refresh Optive Advanced Lubricant Eye Drops to alleviate her dry eye symptoms. "Only use these." I check each year and my eye doctor still says these are THE ones he wants me to use for Dry Eye. The individual vials help keep the product fresh and sanitary. They are easy to carry in a purse, pocket, or backpack. I use them upon first getting up in the morning, and then about every two hours after that and just before bed. No irritation, and they basically cannot be overused. Safe and effective.

1drop was enough for me in each eye but you can use 2 drops in each eye before throwing away the vial. These drops make my eyes blurry for a time. There is some burning for me.Don’t sit in front of fans or go out on windy days as these drops or any other drops will not improve the dryness.Don’t forget the warm eye mask.

After my doctor recommended eye drops after my lasix, I started using Optive (not advanced). I tried many brands (samples from my doc) and found that almost all burned my eyes. On a recent visit my doc asked me to start using the MEGA-3 version (I'll get to Optive Advanced shortly) and sadly, that formulation burned my eyes as well. But, I was now on a journey to find a better drop for my eyes and tried Advanced. I like the thought that they have advanced lubricating properties. After trying them for several weeks, I do feel that my eyes don't get as dry as quickly during the day. Dry eyes are a pain, but Refresh Optive is great and Refresh Optive Advanced is definitely a noticeable step up.

I suffer from 4 types of blindness and have a dr for each type. One thing they all agree on is otc tears are well worth it but do not buy bottles. Bottles have preservative which dry out your eyes. These are single day use containers which hold several drops each. The top can be replaced and you can use it several times. But throw them out at the end of every day. ( I will put one next to my bed- I wake with eyes dry enough to need immediate moisture but I throw it out in the am- sometimes after using it one last time). That way I know mine are newly opened and good to use. While the company depends on what you like, I’ve used this company for 20+ yrs now and use 2-5 of these daily depending on weather, etc. and can recommend them without reservation. I buy a couple of their formulas and use as needed. Try them until you find one that keeps your eyes moist at least 3 hrs, then use that as needed. If it’s not working that long, see a dr please.
