This is a little more expensive than other similar pectins for making jams and jellies, but it is also the most versatile. Meaning you can adjust the amount or type of sweetener that you want to! That's big! Worth spending a little more for the flexibility of sweetener choice. My husband is diabetic, so I use half the amount of sugar and believe or not it's so much better, so tasty. It's sweet enough but with a touch of tartness that makes my jams the most excellent!

I ordered a 3 pack but only received 2.Bolo was helpful to correct the problem.The Pomonas pectin is fantastic! As a diabetic this gives me an option for jams and jellies.

I LOVE everything about it. First of all , Sure Jell and others like it are WAY too sweet. I have been making jams for over 30 years, so I think I know a bit about the subject. Pomona's pectin can use no sugar, if you want and instead use honey, or Stevia, or all sorts of sweeteners. For most jams, I use less than 2 cups of sugar instead of around 5 cups for a regular pectin recipe. With regular pectin you can only make one batch at a time. but with Pomona's I think it says you can make 3 at a time, but this year I made 4 at a time, and it was just as easy, and you can fill a canner with 4 batches saving loads of time. You can also use almost any kind of fruit or combinations of fruit. I made loquat jam last year (yummy). Where are you going to find loquat jam in regular pectin recipes? You can even use bananas!!! Google it and you will find a page of different kinds of fruit and combinations. It's incredible!!!!! It is just so quick and easy and I wish I could give it 100 stars, I love it that much. They also have a jam line with wonderful people to answer any questions you have. The only problem is that people are starting to learn about it, and it can be hard to find. I like to buy it in bulk (lasts forever) at health food stores, but you can also buy it on line. Try it out, I guarantee you won't be disappointed.

I have used this several times and it has set well each time (BIG WIN), with less sugar. It may change the jam consistency some with less sugar, and it means less jam overall due to the loss of sugar, so just keep that in mind.

I very seldom buy store bought jelly as I make grape, crabapple, rhubarb, partridge berry, squash berry, etc.
I wouldn't use anything else
Pomona's Pectin is what my mother in law taught me to can using- nothing else works as well It is more expensive but for all the work you put into canning- you want it to turn out well! The box has recipes inside and instructions. It is a FANTASTIC company, also a big bonus- they are Canadian!!!

Pomona's Pectin
Love this product, I was able to make 3 batches of 8 jars of Mixed Berry Jam with little sugar added. It was easy to use and the jam jelled quite nicely.
Honest, low sugar jam
I love this pectin in that I get to choose how much (or little) sugar I will use on a given batch of jam or jelly. Pictured her is my grape jam (complete with skins). I used the Concord grape recipe, put it through the sieve (whole, used the correct size of disc to exclude the seeds). I don't know what kind of grapes I have, I just know they survive and thrive in southern Manitoba (Canada). In my opinion, the only things to be cautious of are A) overdoing the sugar (it has specified maximums) or B) remember it doesn't keep quite as long as store bought high sugar jams once it's open. I will be using this pectin for all of my jams, jellies, and who knows? Maybe syrup?
