This was a birthday gift to a 9-year old intelligent, curious, collector, lover of all animals & nature, . . ., the list goes on. As I loved rocks, collected everything (still do at 75), & suspected that this lovely great-niece & I had much in common - I sent this with some of my arrowheads, another similar boxed set of rocks, & more of same for her special day (we are many states away). I was over-joyed to learn that she LOVED these items, quickly added them to some rocks she had been collecting, & told me in an excited voice how MUCH she loved them. Her mom, my niece, said she was really excited & they were to get glass-topped display boxes later! I would have loved this item at any age myself (as her aunt, I'm hoping she continues with all things natural, working with wood, & art - all other things we have in common). When I received the box, I wanted to keep it for myself!! I would have loved this at her age. It makes a beautiful gift; you can hear things rattling inside but it survived easily a long trip via UPS. Highest rating!!!

I feel a little let down by this box. I got it to fill my sons advant calendar with rocks and while it includes everything pictured most of the specimens are not great examples of the different type rocks. I have my doubts about the geods, they appear to be sold chunks of quartz that are unlikely to break. Most rocks are 1/4 inch, a few are 1/2 but not many. 50% of the box is small chips of tumbled rocks, mostly quarts. I ended up having to pull from my own childhood collection (the ones I haven't yet passed on to my son) to fill his advant calendar. I rounded to 4 stars but it's more of a 3.5

Didn’t keep track if all the rocks and minerals were in the package but can tell you there were some really, really nice prices to make up for the lackluster ones and the geodes alone were worth the price of the box.

Great set with everything you need and a book to match the rocks with descriptions. My 7 year old loves it and has a great time learning about the various minerals and fossils.

Mejor de lo que me esperaba con peros
Aunque hay piedras tintadas, hay variedad pero toda no aparece en el papel donde deberían salir todas las que se incluyen... Un poco caro para lo que es.

Good stuff
I used this product as Christmas gift for my son who loves crystals and stones fossils etc . Product looks good , lots of gemstones and shark tooth , but very dusty , so we will wash it all from dust but I think it will be even more fun as looks like proper natural stuff
