I have very fine, thin hair. It’s short and I’m using a styling mousse, which fluffs it up but then it tends to split in areas making it possible to see down to the scalp which makes me feel self conscious. This product plumps the hair just enough to minimize that tendency so my hair stays fluffy without gaps forming where you can see through. Great product for that purpose.

I have used this product for several years now along with its sister product, Aveda Texturizing Spray. I have very fine hair and have tried numerous products over the years that did not work. This does. I put it on my wet hair after shampooing and toweling dry along with the Texturizing Spray. I also use it on dry hair in between shampoos without adding the Texturizing Spray. My hair is noticeably thicker and will also maintain a curl after using hot curlers. It's a little pricey but definitely worth it! My only complaint is that it has an herbal smell. Some love that smell; I do not but will put up with it for what it does for my hair. Highly recommend.

Though a bit pricier than other thickeners, Aveda's tonic is certainly worth the price.It smells very fresh and botanical, thickens and adds some nice volume, adds a slight shine. When used as a pre-styler, it sets my hair up nicely for a finishing product like a clay, matte paste, etc. I've noticed that this tonic does not leave my hair feeling hard/dry like Label.M's thickening spray, so if you're looking for a pre-styler that thickens without adding TOO much volume, Aveda is the way to go.

Ive tried countless sprays and products in an attempt to thicken my fine hair. Some dried my hair others left it greasy but this stuff does what its supposed to.
