Excellent shine in just two or three coats

I spray painted something that I wanted to make very shiny. I bought Rustoleum high gloss clear for a top coat and tried three coats and wasn’t happy with the result. I think I could have done 20 coats and it wouldn’t have gotten any better. I googled a little and watched a couple of YouTube videos and this looked promising. I bought this and put on three coats and it looks great. Exactly what I wanted. It is easy to put on and very hard to make run or at least nothing like regular spray paint. I did get some great tips from watching the YouTube videos so I got it right the first time. Most importantly, you need to hold it a little closer than regular spray paint. If you wait 10 minutes to apply a second coat, rigorously shake the can again before spraying because it will separate in the can quickly. Just shake and you avoid the problem. I forgot to shake once and immediately regretted it. Anyway this is crazy shiny now. I can see why someone would use it on cars. Really great stuff. I don’t know how long the can will last. I got my project done over two days. One video said it could last from a couple of days to a couple of weeks but I don’t know what factors affect that. Once mixed, this isn’t going to last months or years on the shelf. Treat it like you would epoxy. Mix it and use it. What I mean by mix is smash the plunger on the bottom of the can to break the seal inside the can. Sounds hard but it is very easy. If you have never used a 2K, just watch a couple of videos.

But if I can do it with zero experience, so can you. Just make sure you prep everything right and find the right products to pair with it. The spray pattern is perfectly even, almost like a spray gun. But test it first! Spraying on cardboard or paper helps you get a feel for it. Work in light coats, keep it moving, and don’t let it drip.Dry Time, Faster Than 1K, But Not InstantIt dries faster than a standard 1K clear coat, but it still gives you enough time to work with it. But there’s a reason pros use it, it’s the best you can get in a can. Whether that’s worth it for you depends on your project, but I wish they made smaller cans for smaller jobs because once you activate it, you’re on a 48-hour timer before it dies.Application Tips (Read This Before Spraying!)• Get a spray can trigger handle, it gives you way more control. (It just clamps on top and turns it into a mini spray gun.)• Test the spray first, don’t just go straight to your car.• Work in light, even coats, slow and steady wins the race.• Use it all within 48 hours, once activated, it’s done.Final ThoughtsIf you’re on the fence, just go for it. It’s not cheap, and it’s not dummy-proof, but the results? Insane. The fact that I got a glossy, smooth, no-orange-peel factory look on my first attempt tells you everything you need to know. Super durable

This clear high-gloss spray paint is fantastic. It goes on smooth and even, with no drips or cloudiness, and the shine is super clean and professional looking. What really impressed me is how hard it dries — the marine-grade finish feels tough, durable, and built to last. It sealed and protected perfectly while giving a beautiful glass-like gloss. Pretty Good for Rattle Can Paint

Worked great for a rust repair. Not exactly sure how the bottom "pin" activation works. Is it pressed and released or does it need to be held pressed in? I held it in while shaking it for ~15 minutes then released it to spray. Unfortunately once activated it's a 1x use. Otherwise pretty good for rattle can paint.
