I'm allergic to something in US milk products. I can consume milk products in other countries for weeks at a time and suffer no consequences. But as SOON as I start eating US food products again, I experience body pain all over. This imported Italian parmesan cheese is superb and well worth the money. Delicious, smooth, and lasts a very long time. I'll never touch the stuff in a can ever again!

First of all let me state that the seller, (Mondo), was great to deal with. However, since this is a product review, let me review the cheese.I'm a 68 year old Italian that was raised in an Italian neighborhood. I went to Italian Deli's all my life, I must have eaten literally hundreds, nay, thousands of pounds of Parmigiano Reggiano in my life.This is some of the worst P.R. I've ever had.....NO...this IS the worst I've ever had!!There are practically none of the little white crystals I seek in a good P.R., I can actually COUNT the number of little crystals I see. (I actually counted 7 crystals in two pounds of cheese)!!I like the seller, not the cheese. This has to be IMO, the lowest grade of P.R., and in fact, if it was not for seeing the stamp on the rind, (its not the stamp I like to see, but it is stamped), I would even question its authenticity.This is not a good table cheese,(as far as P.R. goes),it is only (at BEST) barely good enough to be grated on macaroni.Now, I have to try and find some good Parmigiano Reggiano, as the store near me where I now live has closed.Sorry, but I have to tell it like it is.If I could, I would give this "Parmigiano Reggiano cheese" a zero star rating! I feel as though I've simply thrown money away, as I wont eat this crap that is trying to disguise itself as Parmigiano Reggiano!Let me say this to its defense, as I really like this seller. The price for this cheese is amazing, even factoring in shipping, this price cannot be beat. I used to pay over $25.00 a pound for the good P.R., and that was years ago.I took a gamble, and lost. If you have not been spoiled by having real P.R. your entire life, then this cheese might be good for you, it is not for me.The problem is that now I'm leery of buying any P.R. from Bolo. I may have to locate a shop in N.Y. that will ship.

Excellent Parmesan! We cut it up and store the pieces in the freezer for our OXO grater that allows you to just leave a chunk in it. Much better flavor and texture that store bought parmesan shaker "cheese".

This was delicious cheese. I only wish I had more of it I do not like preshredded cheese because they put “caking” agents in them to keep it dry.
