FIRST: my Colombian wife grew up on her daddy's coffee plantation. There's not much she doesn't know about java joe. Secondly: I was not paid a dime for this review.That said, we love this dark roast whole bean product in the mornings. It has just the right amount of character to work perfectly in our Breville espresso/capu machine without overwhelming its inherent smoothness. And, yes, I'm talking about the decaf which I must have b/c of a heart murmur. We can see no taste changes from the decaf process at all. I also like it for drip coffee during the day -- but I can see if you might want to mellow it out just a bit by mixing in a medium grind. Be sure to use heated milk if you don't take drip coffee black.To conclude, this is an OUTSTANDING coffee at a great price -- significantly lower than most other top-tier coffees out there. We're glad we found it. A+

Really love this coffee. I enjoy a very dark roast in my French press. This coffee is so good it even helps my use up other coffees I did not enjoy so well by mixing them with this one. Plus it is organic! No chemicals. 🤗

I have been making espresso for around 20 years now and these Italian Roast beans are about as good as it get if your anywhere on the east coast US. I have been drinking this almost exclusively for 6 months now.There are a lot of good coffee beans around, some which are better then these but for the price I can honestly say they are the best. you won`t regret buying them.4 star rating because I have had batches that where not as fresh, and sometimes I feel like the mix of Robusta and Arabica is slightly different, but most of the time you would never notice. Never have I received a bag that was undrinkable.

This is my second Fresh Roasted coffee. The first was excellent. When I opened this bag, I wasn’t encouraged that this was a good purchase. It reminded me of stale store bought $1 a pound mass produced coffee. The luxurious cost of this coffee, I feel o should be blown away by it. Like if you buy a Ferrari. If you buy a Ferrari it should drive, feel and smell like a Ferrari, it should not drive, feel and smell like a 1976 Datsun. From the moment I opened the bag I was disappointed. The beans looked like great beans. Like they should have a different smell and I certainly paid a premium for them, I ground them and brewed them up just like I do all the coffees I have tried and reviewed. Something magical happened in between the bag opening and the grinding and then the brewing. The taste was nothing like the smell inside the bag. It was an incredibly flavorful coffee. The end result was a really good cup of joe. This took me by surprise. Ultimately the coffee turned out great and not a waste as I initially thought. 1 star off because a premium coffee carrying a Ferrari price, should not just shock my wallet, it should wow my taste buds and my nose and in that this coffee failed one part of that. Might be better smelling next bag but this one, fell two stars short of perfect. Price, ouch, initial open bag aroma, aye carumba, ultimate taste, great, 3 stars.

Very tasty coffee at a good price. Mild but deep flavor. My brother and I have both been very pleased with the quality. We both plan to buy more soon.

It's coffee! Nice dark roast, great value for the money especially if you're not super picky about your coffee. Tastes good, have had better but I appreciate the generous 5lb bag to limit my trips to the store. Functional size for a family of coffee drinkers.
