Our story begins in 1919. That’s when the world was introduced to what you now know as the Hostess CupCake. It’s perhaps the first and most significant moment in the history of snack cakes. Just ask your great grandpappy. He was there. Six years later, Continental Baking wanted to add a line of cakes to sell alongside a hot little item they were making called Wonder bread. This new line of sweet treats became known as Hostess. And a brand was born. Continental hit the sponge cake gold mine in 1930 when Jimmy Dewar invented Twinkies. At two for a nickel, popularity skyrocketed and it soon became Hostess’ best-selling snack cake. Twinkies have since become an American icon. Half a billion are made each year. That’s a lot of creme filling! In the summer of 1995, Interstate Bakeries Corporation acquired Continental Baking Company. This made Interstate the largest wholesale baker of fresh delivered bread and cake in the United States. In 2009, Interstate changed its name to Hostess Brands, Inc., to better reflect our beloved brands. Fast forward to present day, and we’re continuing to turn everyday moments into small celebrations with a variety of new and classic treats like Ding Dongs, Ho Hos and Donettes, just to name a few. Very addicitive but very bad for you. I would only eat these as a treat. The nutritional label on these are just scary.

The donettes arrived in a timely manner, in just a few days before I was hit by Hurricane Milton. I had to order a lot of stuff on line, I am recovering from surgery and could not drive. The donettes were so stale that I had to spit it out. There was no expiration date on the package or on the individual 6 donut packs inside. These were meant as comfort food knowing we would loose power during Milton, which we did. I'm very disappointed. Not worth returning, just going to toss them.

I started trying the whole foods division with Bolo I have also been pleased with all my orders from whole foods part of Bolo. I have ordered all kinds of items from them like donuts, cookies, snack's coffee. I looking forward to my next whole foods purchase!!!

Price was right at $1 per sleeve. The first purchase arrived in an envelope, so there was damage to several of the packages. You could tell they had aged in whatever warehouse they had come from. The box was damaged and I threw it away so I don't know if they were expired or not, the kids ate them anyway.The second order arrived safe and sound, bubble packed in a box. As far flavor, they tasted fresh and were enjoyed as expected.

This gift made a veteran very happy. I sent my brother, who is in a home for Vets, these donuts. I also sent him some clothes and books for Christmas. I never got a thank you for the clothes and books. He , however, couldn’t thank me enough for the donuts.
