This is a very nice chalice for mead, ale, or wine. It's sturdy, basic design, nondescript, & holds 12 ounces as stated. The only weird thing I discovered was how the base of it was attached to the stem. The bottom of the stem is threaded, like a bolt or a screw, and the base is apparently twisted on & tightened. It seems kind of tacky, but it gets the job done, I guess. I hope it doesn't ever come loose. People will only see it when you take a sip. It was also just a tiny bit lopsided, but that is practically undetectable. GREAT for Ren Fests or to add a little class to your meals at home. Hand wash only--which is super easy & takes seconds. I have already bought another as a gift. UPDATE: I've bought two more since writing that review. I've also changed my rating from 4 to 5 stars. This is the drinking vessel I choose most often when having mead. They also make a nice noise when you bump two of them together at the rim. I am planning to buy more as gifts.

I can't grace you with a photo, but I tell no lie when I say this is one impressive piece. Perfect size, holds more fluid than expected. Light but sturdy, and shines like the most high quality silver. I'm REALLY glad I bought this.
