I have other speakers - mostly Elacs and a Magnepan but the lively and detailed nature of these Wharfedales have drawn me in. I have them bi-amped with a sub and they're rocking, jazzing, 'reggaeing', etc. with ease. I agree with the positive reviews except that I'm not experiencing the bottom end that some people speak of (I need a amp but these are used as a secondary system so the Yamaha might suffice) thus the sub. Otherwise though, it's wonderful for this price point. I'm enjoying these speakers... .

These are really superb to my ears. Exceptionally smooth and well balanced sound, especially the highs, which are not overemphasized but still provide a lot of detail. The tweeter is really nicely integrated with the woofer and has an uncanny rich and savory tone quality that is additive to listen to. I can listen for hours at fairly loud levels without fatigue or discomfort. Once I start listening, I don't want to stop. The build quality is also excellent...these are quite heavy and have really solid and substantial cabinets. Highly recommended and well worth it even at full price.

Incredible deal. Quality of these speakers for the price.... I don’t this you will find it.200 bucks a pair. I have them hooked up to higher end equipment bi-wired and these speakers present a pretty nice soundstage with good balance. Did I mention they are pretty fast too. Seemed to keep up with some more demanding music. Note these are not very efficient speakers and my review is with these puppies being powered by Parasound 45a 200w ch class a/b amp/ 400+ audioquest spoke cbls,etc. These would sound impressive if an average 100w HK receiver was hooked up to them with some monster cable. Low end from a 5 1/4 woofer with plinth is truly amazing- very clean and articulate. Makes me eye the Evo models....

Amazing Speaker! I bought it on faith from all of the online reviews. I am replacing B&W 602 S3s for my office system. The system - Jolida 102B, Musical Fidelity V90 DAC fed by a CuBox-i 4 running OpenElec Kodi using FLAC encoded music ripped from my CD collection.The music just came to life - the speakers are extremely well balanced even at low volumes - a very magical experience. They are incredibly musical - no fatigue just brilliant sound! What an amazing speaker and such an affordable price! Highly recommend to anyone.

These are very typical British speakers. The highs are crystal clear and the mids mostly stand out in front of the stage. You will need to augment the bass on these guys but with a sub you will have a pretty and responsive sound stage.

Sorry to say the 220's are not a big improvement over the 10.2 speakers. The treble and midrange coverage are good and the bass extension is fine for the size of the cabinets. For me, the sound stage characteristics are not as good as several speakers in this price range. Too bad that Wharferdale can't get some of the great listening features of the Jade line into their mid range products.

After doing a ton of research and deliberation, I got these. Right out of the box, they sound amazing...the sound is much bigger than their size would indicate and they're clear from bass through midrange through high. If this is what they sound like after only 20 minutes, they will be even more fantastic after they've been broken in. In my opinion, they look good, too.

A truly amazing set of speakers

Old system wasn't bad a Technics Tuner amp and Mission speakers but over 20 years old. The sound from this set up now is just blowing me away :) The amp is a good one, would recommend that and the FiiO player is amazing, would definitely recommend that, but had already used the amp and FiiO player in conjunction with the old Mission speakers and it sounded good. Then these Wharfdale speakers turned up, and the difference is amazing, such a depth to any music I play, be it blues, rock, classical, bluegrass, pop, easy listening (I like a wide spread of music). The bass is there strong and vibrant but not overbearing. the mids clear and the highs crisp with no jarring. Also the set up I've got at the moment is with these speakers on the floor and using only average quality cables, once I get them on stands and bi-wire them with better quality cables think they will be even more impressive. If your looking to spend around the £ 200 mark on small speakers don't hesitate just buy them they are truly brilliantUPDATE (after two weeks) Ok the speakers are now bi-wired with reasonable quality speaker wire (not wasting a fortune on cable as speakers are only 2.5m from amp each side) and on two good speakers stands that put speakers at face level when seated. That has made a big difference to them, they now sound even better. Some will attribute part of the improvement to the speakers being "broke in" as far as I'm concerned and any scientific testing is concerned that is pure rubbish. There is some loosening up of the mechanical components in speakers that is true but that most likely will of occurred during testing at manufactures and if hasn't will happen in the first couple of hours of use and anyway to think that the audible difference it makes can turn bad sounding speakers into brilliant speakers as some claim is sheer baloney.Anyway set these speakers up either standard wired or bi-wired with reasonable cable and on speaker stands (the work ok on solid shelves but stands are better) and you will be delighted with them. Planning to spend £200 area then just buy them you will be so pleased :))

J'ai moi aussi longuement hésité entre differents modeles Q aoucstics, Dali etc... Et j'ai franchi le pas pour ce modèle... Elles sont encore en rodage et sur une installation provisoire (Ampli premier prix, Cable premier prix etc...) Et pourtant quelle claque, la je peux vous dire que vous allez vraiment faire la différence entre un FLAC et un MP3 mal encodé.... WOuahou ! Comme je l'ai dis elle sont en rodage mais les aigus sont d'une précision impressionante les graves et mediums bien présents sans être envahissant. Je suis dans une petite pièce donc c'est pas mal apres pour un grand salon je pense que ca fera quand meme juste ... Il vaudrait mieux s'orienter vers les 225 avec un haut parleur grave medium un peu plus grand.Je recommande chaudement ce modèle :). tres bon rapport qualité prix.
