The consistency of this African shea butter is very good. However, the scent of it is not very nice. That said, I wanted an unscented product to have fewer chemicals.

This is the best stuff for hair conditioner and using it for my kids rough dry skin i see a major difference ! Only need to apple once a day , my sons ezcema has clear up on his arms after 2 weeks of applying it everyday , our skin is so soft , now The smell is not that great but I do not mind it for I am sensitive to scents . It does feel a little gritty but just warm it up in your hands and it melts in seconds , the scent is not over powering once applied it seems to be not even their for those that are worried about it . Love this product will be buying a lot more ☺️ my kids hair is so soft , I apply just a tiny bit when they are in the bath and massage it in reall good than i put their regular shampoo on they have such soft lovely hair now and it seems to take care of that frizz my kids have curly thick hair .

I have used it on my face and it will cause breakouts but not at first , it’s probably amazing for a Shae butter soap base, it’s amazing to put in your hair and lips it’ll definitely make them soft , it’s very versatile, and you only need the smallest bit to use , i still have mine and I think it’s been a year? I know it looks like it could be used in food but don’t eat it it doesn’t taste great , it has a slight nutty smell but it’s great honestly I would buy it again but i would look for the other kind of Shae butter that’s refined or even try cocao butter next time but for what it is you really wont be disappointed- unless you hate being moisturized or can’t stand the nutty smell which isn’t that noticeable unless you use way too much , in seriousness though it is a butter which is technically an oil so when using it only use the smallllestt amount it’s too easy to use too much and that can cause your hair to look greasy but when used in moderation it’s wonderful for the cold dry winters and hot blistering summers (that sounds like im trying to sell it to you but im not I just genuinely use it for those types of weathers) the only thing that actually sucks about it is it’s in a big container so contamination feels imminent and the cap is plastic-y and you have to open the cap everytime otherwise if you leave it out it could definitely get Contaminated, so either transfer to another container or clean it once in a while ,someone posted a review where they found like bugs in it when it was melted but luckily I haven’t had any bugs in mine and I’ve used a lot of it and melted it too and it looks just like butter or like a light oil

This is amazing. I wasn’t expecting it to be so useful. I use it on my face and body and my skin glows. I had a really dry patch on my leg that I have been throwing lotion on 24/7 and within a couple of uses there was dramatic improvement. It’s also cheaper than any of the million lotions I have used. I will say that at first I wasn’t sure about the scent. It’s very earthy. But after a few uses it has really grown on me. I used it in my hair overnight and then washed it out and my hair has never felt so clean and soft. This is going to be a staple in my skincare from now on. I am very fair skinned and genetically have a high risk for melanoma so I am excited that it also acts as a sunscreen. I am really good about using sunscreen on my face everyday but only use it on my arms/shoulders/etc when I am swimming or going to be outdoors for an extended period of time. This is mainly laziness, but I moisturize everyday so the fact I can be protected without an extra step in my routine is fantastic. I’ll still apply sunblock when I’ll be in the sun for a while, but having that little bit of protection day to day is something I am really happy with. The price, the quality, and the versatility are all reasons I recommend this product!

I've used raw Shea butter for over 20+ yrs. This is the first time I've had a tub reeked so bad, I immediately threw it out. It smelled like straight manure. The consistency was also not the same, more like play dough. I'm hoping this was just an awful batch that I never encounter again. If the company has recently made changes, please be advised, I'd reconsider. To be on the safe side, I'll try my luck at another company to ensure I'm actually receiving REAL Africian Shea Butter.
