But in short order it was obvious they really enjoyed playing with these so I purchased a second one. The backlit board is well lit. If I had my choice, it'd be great if it were slightly brighter, but you can definitely see the underlying template picture below. Both the blue and pink device comes with usable templates and each is somewhat gender specific, meaning the pink one had things like a runway model where the blue ones had things like a boy playing soccer. But what I really like is that you can find literally thousands of traceable images online with a quick Google search. So I downloaded and printed out a hundred templates that included monster trucks, princesses, Disney characters, super heroes, etc. these will be great to take on a airplane, in the car and they just love doing them around the kitchen table too. This was one of my favorite Christmas gifts to give and I highly recommend.

This light up tracing pad works well and is nice and bright. It's easy to use. It turns on and off with a simple slide switch on the back and works well for tracing. My son loves using it to make flip books and it was way more affordable than the one his favorite Flipbook YouTuber recommends.

This was bought for a 7 year old boy as a gift. He was very happy with it and uses it a lot. Comes with template pictures to trace and then sheets with extra details to then add to these basic pictures once drawn. Son was really pleased with the complex pictures he could create
