It is a great value for the money. It cooks up really well as good as fresh cabbage. We use this in soups as well as when we want a pot of cabbage just add a little seasonings and it is delicious and smells so good.

I love using this when making stuffed dumplings. They are chopped just the right size and taste great. The only down side to this dehydrated cabbage is you have to steam or soak the cabbage a little longer than most dehydrates or it will come out a little tough or chewy.

having a gluten sensitivity and learning to cook my own soups and foods that will not present a flair has been a challenge in the past year: finding safe foods in the grocery store is a nightmare, package labels can be evil to decipher and often have several names for "gluten" that trip us up. Mother Earth Products provides wonderfully dehydrated products that have a tremendous shelf life of over 10 years and are ready to use in my cabinet when I need them (no store trip and anxiety required). They do not blanch their products prior to dehydrating or freeze drying. No preservatives are added. Just the single ingredient you are buying. Of course, farmers markets in the summer are better but in the winter months I choose MEP over canned since canned presents its own set of carcinogens and worries. Expensive yes, but healthier, peace of mind, and a chance to not feel sick everyday? Absolutely! Also, check out their website motherearthproducts.com for the philanthropist: right now the company is running a 'BUY TWO SHARE ONE' company wide event where if a customer buys two products a third product is donated to a food bank that is in dire need. I thought this was green cabbage, but it turned out to be savoy. There isn't much flavor difference, so it's fine. Works great to add veggies to instant ramen packets. Toss a sprinkle of dried veggies in the water as you're waiting for it to boil. Within a couple minutes it's soft and you can add the noodles in and cook like normal. Haven't tried with other soups yet, but I'm sure it'll work just as well.

I was looking for a replacement for ramen noodles that have some "chew". The color and look of the cabbage is meh. The smell or aroma is first rate and delicious. Put instant ramen powder and Ramen Bae Mix in bowl. Dumped hot water and cabbage into bowl.I will use freshly chopped cabbage when I can, with a little dried seaweed, but this is an ok substitute.

The thinness of the product is perfect to add to soups. It cooks up easily and adds extra vitamins with minimal effort. It enables me to have a small amount of cabbage within reach without worrying about having to purchase an entire head.
