Works. Cleared the thin layer of lacquer from top the engine head and tappet feeder tubes on a CVVT
Didn't expect it to do much as quality branded engine oils anyway include cleaning agents...... BUT this stuff took off the oil lacquer and bit of carbonised oil on a 20 year old CVVT engine of 70k miles... .... after just 200 miles normal driving... I used just half the bottle (about 160ml) so have the rest for after next oil change. ... Combined with Lucas Engine Oil Leak stop ca. 400ml added to 4L oil ... engine much smoother & tappets much much quieter... Lucas Stop Leak took 100 miles to stop the leak (probably an aging rubber seal in the engine on shaft to gearbox)...(This Engine Oil Tonic and Oil Leak Stop stuff obviously won't fix a split gasket or cracked block, head or oil sump, nor heavily worn valves/valve seats in the engine head).... In fact you might make a physical leak worse by using this Cleaning / Tonic stuff.
My mpg went +15%
My mpg went +15% from 28 to 32mpg. I added to oil that is 3,000miles old, and MPG is better than was with New oil! I will be adding 1 bottle every 1,000 miles. And change oil every 5,000.
