This is a highly detailed model both inside and out. I am about 80% complete and so far so good. The interior was a bit slow going but that was because I added a 10 man crew and each one had to be customized for it's station and not because of the model itself. The instructions however are a bit limited and I ended up referring to the online instructions for it's sister model Revells B-17G 1/72 #5861 which were almost exactly the same but much more detailed (actually saved me from missing a critical step). This kit includes a lot of extra parts that you could use to customize for several different variations of the "F" model which is nice. Other then referring to the instructions for the #5861 the other tip that might be helpful to some is this. The highly detailed interior sections are built mainly outside the fuselage separately then installed one by one. Each time you are ready to install a new section of the interior (there are 5 sections) test it to be sure the two halves of the fuselage fit together before glueing the section in. It may require a little very light sanding to allow for a clean fit of the fuselage halves because the clearances are very precise/tight.

I thought it was a 1/48 scale kit but it was 1/72 scale. I can see where Revell of Germany has improved some details fron tge original Revell Warbirds Series from ages ago. I still have one of those unbuilt. A bit more interior detail than that one. So I am very satisfied to add it to my build queue. I also did find the 1/48 scale kit here on Bolo as well.

Si bien es cierto los hay de otros tamaños (1/48 y 1/32) de fabricantes diferentes, en escala 1/72 puede considerarse este de Revell entre los mejores. Por supuesto sería ideal mayor detalle en su interior y eventualmente, una de las partes del fuselaje que fuesen transparentes. Así los incautos, podrían descubrir a uno de los iconos históricos de la aviacion en todo su esplendor. Muy satisfecho.

As a kid I did many Revell model kits. I broke my leg so I'm home for a bit so decided to relive my childhood. I started with the large Tamiya Enterprise aircraft carrier. Amazing kit. Ordered all the planes from Tamiya in larger scales as well. Well unfortunately, now I'm completely spoiled. Their is really no comparison in the quality. I obviously didn't notice this as a kid. The fit it poor, required much exacto work cleaning up plastic press bleeds on almost every piece. Tolerances are terrible. Instructions look more like a comic book drawing. With filler and patience the kit came out fine, but I shouldn't have to whittle this model to fit.

Good level of difficulty. Great decals.
‘Gold Standard’ kit for 2:72
In decades of building model aircraft this is one of the best kits I’ve ever come across in terms of quality and value for money. I bought this kit as a project to keep me busy during lockdown and was expecting something comparable to the Airfix B-17. In fact, this is far superior. The interior detail is fabulous, hence my decision to build this as a ‘cutaway’ model so that this can be shown off. The model comes with a very detailed decal set that takes time and patience to apply but produces great looking results. The detailing is as good as it possibly can be without photo-etched parts. Both the detailing on the plastic mouldings and the level of detail on the decals are superior to much more expensive kits I’ve built. If I have one criticism it’s that the guns are easily broken off but that’s due to the scale and it was easy enough to substitute thin wire for the original plastic. One thing I would recommend is to go through theinstructions thoroughly before starting, as the order specified is not always the most logical. I enjoyed this kit so much that I’m actually considering buying it again and building the alternative ‘Shamrock Special’ version.
