This stuff works like magic. Covered up scuffs and scratches on an old dresser in seconds. The color blended right in with my dark wood furniture and left a nice polish. Smells nostalgic too — like an old-school fix-it product that still holds up.

I think I saw someone suggest this on Instagram so I thought I’d give it a try. It does work nicely. A little goes a long way. You rub a bit onto your worn out wood and it does kinda revitalize the color. You have to let it dry and then wipe the excess off. When I wiped it off it looked a bit different, but nothing drastic. You do have to wipe the excess since it’ll come off on you. It was worth the effort over all.

I bought a piece from a thrift store and it was pretty banged up. I kept it in the garage, because I was concerned about the smell of this product, which I didn’t need to be. Honestly this works great to cover light and mild surface scratches, but it doesn’t fill the scratches. It just colors them to match the wood again making them less visible. There are some toxic products that fill and color. If you have some wide deep scratches this will just pool the color making them darker. In the third picture the scratch was like someone took a small screwdriver across it. It is a deep gash. The fourth pic you can see this stuff colored the gash but didn’t fill it. I give this product 5 stars for light to mild scratches, it conceals and restores the sheen of the piece. Big plus is it’s low odor so even if they appear over time again you can just use this to polish it up. I give it 3 stars for deep scratches and dings because it just pools color which looks better, but in a highly visible spot it wouldn’t be enough. This brings my overall rating to 4. I would buy it again to conceal minor scratches or just to give some life back to a dull piece.Note: I used a clean old sports sock to apply and it worked well.

I love this stuff been using it for 60 years. It brightens wood. Brings back the richness. Safe for the animals. Wear gloves. It’s messy not hazardous. I highly highly recommend it. Especially if you have older solid wood furniture. It does not dry quickly. It slowly sinks into the wood. I have wood that’s 40 to 140 years old and it brings them to life. Color is great. Doesn’t have a strong odor. I love it and the little bottle goes a long way.

Excellent result on scratched mahogany
We had a Mahogony cupboard with lots of scratches which we didn't want to sand back as that would require multiple lauers of stain and lacquer.Rubbing this product on all the scratches made a huge difference as it dyes the scratched timber darker so it becomes barely noticeable. I also used timber touchup pens (bought seperately) for any scratches that were still visible. The pens are effective but it is pretty obvious where they have been used as the finish/colour looks like a texta marker.The Old English scratches cover did most of the work though and looked a lot more natural. It took a full day to do this cupboard but the end result I'm thrilled with.I've used only a tiny amount of the bottle. It will last me many years!Definitely worth the money as it achieved the result we wanted.The dents and scratches are still there for this 100 year old cupboard, but they blend in now being a close colour to the rest of the cabinet.Buy it and be happy. :-)
