Sodium lauryl sulfate is a foaming agent in almost all regular toothpaste (and some popular mouthwashes). Some people react to this chemical by getting frequent intra-oral aphthous ulcers, which are a remarkably painful nuisance. It also has potassium nitrate and fluoride that actually do help with root sensitivity. Although it is pricier than most, it is well worth it if you suffer from either oral ulcers or sensitive teeth.

I've tried a few out there, but Sensodyne Pronamel Gentle Whitening by far is the best I have found so far. The taste is also pleasant and not overwhelming like I have found the Crest brands to be. My son and I both use it - both having sensitive teeth - and have found it works the best.

I love this toothpaste; my mouth is sensitive so I can't use standard toothpaste. This box came with 36 travel size tubes, perfect for traveling without a checked bag. It was kind of a big box for one person, but the only one I have been able to find.

This is a more expensive toothpaste, but it is so worth the money! It took away all my sensitivity in a very short tome and it did slightly whiten my teeth. I am very satisfied and I will continue using this brand which, in my opinion, is head and shoulders over the others. Highly recommended!

I suffer from sensitive teeth and it is hard to find a whitening toothpaste. This works great and it doesn't cause any extra sensitivity, instead it has helped me and I feel my teeth don't hurt as much as they did before I started using this toothpaste.
