We have a pontoon and use it in salt body water so it's very important to get the salt off the boat. We were using "Salt-Away" and I saw this at a lesser price and it stated no rinsing and adds a protective layer on. I won't go back to the more expensive Salt-Away product. I really like salt terminator and it does a great job getting rid of the salt! Highly recommend!

I started using Volvo-Pentas salt eliminator some years ago both as an engine flush and for any metal components. This included fishing tackle, rods reels etc. Ive been using the CRC product over the past few years and have found it to be quite comparable to the V-P product. Religiously flushing the raw water cooling system has at least doubled the life of the exhaust manifolds and risers in my I/O . I sue a mix of 1 1/2 to 2 ounces of Salt Terminator to a gallon of water and run at least 5 gallons thru the raw water system of my engine. I also spray down all my fishing tackle on return home. I use a concentration of 1 1/2 ounces to a gallon of water and use this to spray all fishing tackle and all parts of the boat trailer that were immersed. .The performance on fishing tackle really extends the life and appearance of rods and reels. Maintenance intervals are greatly increased with malfunctions decreased noticeably. I only gave it 4 stars because i just wish it were better.

I have a 1981 Johnson 4.5 HP outboard. Water stopped coming out of the hole that indicates proper water flow through the engine. I replaced the complete water pump assembly and there was no change. So I bought Salt Terminator to flush the engine. The instructions on the jug say a mixer is required. I didn't have one and anyway this engine won't accept flushing muffs. So I filled the 20 gallon bucket I use for flushing with fresh water after taking the boat out in salt water and added this stuff in the ratio required. I ran the motor for about 10 minutes with no change. So I left the engine to soak with the flushing solution in the motor for a few hours. Then upon starting water started coming out of the hole in a strong steady stream just like it is supposed to. Though the jug did not mention soaking it did the trick. I thought I would need to start taking the engine apart to clean the water passages but this stuff worked so I didn't have to. I am truly impressed. I will be using Salt Terminator on a regular basis from now on when doing regular maintenance.

Works good been using it for years in my boat and PWC for ocean and freshwater, no visible corrosion anywhere, I do not exactly follow their directions I put this stuff in s spray bottle and just mist the motor compartments and impeller area and any other metal parts and wipe up the excess from the outside but anywhere you know there will be water gushing around just leave the excess alone it will just mix around with the water and be okay. When I flush I load up the flush tubes I have after I rinsed with water at the end and do a quick blast of this through again but not enough to wash out the product I can still see the blue hue to the water and stop. Then I re spray the impellers and motor are with a mist. Good price here on Bolo too way less than the pro shop or west marine.

Cleans very effectively and destroys Sal and salt deposits. I used it to break down salt deposit on old boat motor and it did a fantastic job. Filled a tub with water and dropped the lower unit and ran a gallon worth of fuel thought the motor with this product added to the water. The difference is noticeable.

Trusted CRC for years on all their products, so thought this must be good. Wrong!First the hose end applicator. Installed O ring and washer, screwed onto hose and water leaked everywhere. Ok, so filled dispensing cup, double checked o ring and turned on. Squirted out all over around the cup it’s gone on seconds and I’m soaked.Ok, I’ll use a bucket and dilute 4oz per gallon and drop in a salt encrusted water pump housing from Yamaha F150, a few lower unit bolts and a really salt crusted aluminum seat back bracket. A day later and very little if any improvement. Hot water would have done better. Save your money

Mixer breaks immediately
The product could work just fine but with such a garbage mixer it's hard to tell. Worked once and next time it leaked and the plastic on the inside is cracked.
Very bad mixer design
Very bad mixer design, right out of the box leaks everywhere (with all gaskets in place), white liquid container pops right out even under garden hose pressure. Also need to hunt for a sweet spot to find where red ON/OFF dial is to get water to flow in to the mixing container. Be prepared for spills. Can't tell about the liquid itself because only tried once. Also there is a flow restrictor in the black handle where garden hose is connecting, and with it in place there was not enough flow to flush Yamaha svho engine.
