Most people had a grandmother who had these in a decorative glass candy dish somewhere, so most of us recognize strawberry bon bons as "strawberry granny candy." And as with pizza, most iterations happen to be pretty decent. If one knows where to look, strawberry bon bons will be available at one's local stores in some form or other, although grandmas seem to have an uncanny knack for finding them.These strawberry bon bons are simply better in nearly every conceivable way; packaging, size, taste, soft strawberry jam center, everything. Loved the candy. Allergic to red dye 4/40. It was recalled years ago due to the number of allergic reactions. It was revamped (new number) but still allergic.The candy was flavorful and I love the soft middle. The red dye 4/40 is not needed but used because it makes a beautiful red.

My grandparents used to take a trip to Hawaii once a year, and they always brought back macadamia nuts and strawberry bon-bons. I used to love these things, but you can never find them in stores. The only place I've seen them as an adult is the four they stick in those Hillshire Farms packs around Christmas time.These are them. There's other brands out there, but these are the ones you want. The wrappers have the shiny metallic sheen. The candies are delicious, fresh, solid on the outside, and soft and chewy inside. I now order these 2-3lb bags here on Bolo to keep a candy bowl stocked in my office, and they are by far the most popular candy in my department. People find reasons to stop by just to take a few.
