I ship a lot of Balikbayan boxes to my wife and kids who are stuck in the Philippines due to Covid. I send at least one to two boxes per month. These boxes can be loaded with up to 125 pounds of toys, candy, canned food, small furniture, clothes, you name it - It's the only country in the world to have this kind of service. And it only costs about $120 to ship! The draw back is, it takes 3 or 4 months to arrive, and the local delivery guys can be pretty rough on the box between the ship and the doorstep. They try their best to "accidentally" tear open the box by handling it roughly, and I've heard sad tales of items missing from these "accidents". If a box is merely taped up, it's easy to pop open. However, by gluing the box together with my Elmer's Carpenter Glue, I've never had one "accidentally" pop open. First thing I do is glue the bottom shut, then add a layer off cardboard glued to the floor of the box. I also spread glue on a piece of cotton cloth (a strip of old T shirt) and glue it to the seam in the corner, which is also a weak link of the box, and can pop open .After filling the box will all kinds of goodies for the kids and wife (and mother in law! She loves her peppermint ticks), I glue the top down and place weights on it over night.I then glue a sheet of card board on top, and tape it up to make it look "normal" (requirement of the shipping company. This is some great glue! I've never had a failure. The only time I had an "almost" breach of a box is when I shipped one to Leyte. The local shipper worker got frustrated trying make the box pop open, and it looked almost as round as a beach ball when it arrived (from being rolled on the ground). No problem, anything fragile just is placed in the center, and surrounded by things such as clothes, chips, candy, etc. There was even a laptop computer in the middle! She had a lot of smashed candy when it arrived, but the valuable stuff in the center was unharmed. It looked like a gorilla had tossed it out of a tree, and then it rolled down a cliff! We videochatted as she opened it, and I was relieved that everything of value was unharmed. So, to sum it up, I LOVE this glue. It has served me well over the past 20 years shipping stuff to the Philippines, and now, during the Pandemic, I hav come to depend on it to ship even more stuff to my family.Just say YES to Elmer's Carpenter Glue !

5.0 out of 5 stars This is my wood glue of choice.

This is the old faithful, and it simply works. Properly glued wood joints with this are stronger than the wood itself. I know that we get loyal to brands we know, but there is a reason for that loyalty. When you know the product works, you go back to it again and again. I've tried Titebonds 18 versions of wood glue and never felt confident in picking the right one for the job at hand. (OK, I'm exaggerating. It's only Titebond original, i, ii, and iii; but should I actually have to do an internet search to figure out which glue I need to secure a wood joint?!) I tried the stainable version, which apparently they now call Max. Nothing bonds raw oak, poplar, or pine as securely as old faithful here. To get a perfectly stainable surface, just hand sand the glued joint after it dried to get back to the raw wood grain. It's not that hard, and the strength of the resultant bond is worth the extra minute of sanding to me. The glue when properly stored keeps well over time as well, but I do store mine indoors to avoid the affects of Texas summer garage heat.

It is Elmer's and it upholds its legacy, and worked very well. We are refurbishing and reglueing a table and eight very burly chairs. As always Elmer's is the best, and safest bet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stong bond and smells good too

This stuff holds together well and smells good while doing it. It also doesn't get you high, which may be a good thing, depending on who you speak to.Cleanup is a breeze; just let it dry, then scrape it off. Sand and you're ready to finish.Use screws, brads, nails, or clamps to ensure a good fit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excelent wood glue!

It is difficult to find fault with this glue, it just works and works very well indeed. It is more of a pale beige color, as opposed to the very white color of the British Evo-Stik wood glue. Both claim to be stronger than the wood itself, but Elmer's dries closer to transparent than the Evo-Stik does.Note that it seems to be pretty water-resistant, although it is not rated for that (for waterproof, get Elmer's E7330).You can buy special dispensers for it, but to be honest, I just used a squeezy mustard bottle and it works fine, the glue is not drying out, the nozzle is not getting clogged and the top is not sticking in place either...just rinse the bottle out thoroughly, or the dog/cat will be licking your furniture...

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong, easy to use

    K. · March 30, 2022

I liked the ease of use, and the strength of the glue for the purpose. I had 4 dining room chairs out of a set of 6, which had split on the seat, right down the middle. We only use 2 chairs now, but I wanted to repair the other 4, so I bought this glue, and used it, clamped the seats from the side with F-clamps overnight, and now the chairs seem to be stronger than new. This glue really works!

    Great buy.
