De Cecco imo, makes the best reasonably priced dried pasta that you can find on most supermarket shelves. Unfortunately, and for reasons I'll never understand, most don't stock this particular size of shells and so I buy them through Bolo. When I was a little girl, my parents would moan that I'd only eat pasta with butter - I hated tomatoes. Occasionally, we'd go out to a neighborhood Italian place, and my mother would always feel embarrassed about asking the waiter to put only butter on my pasta. Otherwise I wouldn't eat it. One time, a handsome young waiter smiled and said - but that's the way real Italians eat pasta! Many decades later, I still think of that waiter, his kindness to a little girl, and I know he was an angel in disguise (who set my parents straight, ha). I eat tomato sauce now, but I still recommend doing the butter-only thing with these shells. Cook them a little past al dente and smother them while piping hot, in good fresh butter, some salt/pepper and if you like, a little parmesan. Some things in life are not worth the stress of calorie-counting.

I like the texture and size of the number 50 pasta shell best. De Cecco is the only brand that I can find locally but our mkt doesn't carry any more. I like the flavor that the Italian slow drying gives better than American brands. I eat pasta often enough to get the 5 boxes.

Pasta shells are my favorite for some reason. These are nice because they are on the larger size and that’s what I like. Usually in stores they sell ‘medium’ shells or the jumbo ones to stuff. I ordered a 5 pack of these; and the only issue I had was that all the boxes were damaged/crushed in some way. Otherwise I would have give 5 stars

De Cecco is by far the best tasting dried pasta on the market. The pasta always comes out al dente and there is a definite difference in taste between this pasta and the lesser expensive pasta. I can no longer find this in my local stores and luckily, Bolo has this on Subscribe and Save; Yay!

Hands down the best tasting boxed pasta out there. The al dente cooking time is a bit misleading, that's really only the time to use if you plan on finishing it up in some sauce. Otherwise cooking it to the normal time on the box is a perfect al dente.

All I have to say for Decca pasta .......it is the best dried pasta I have found...... if you follow the instruction it comes out as stated in directions......I do not add oil to the water.....just a bit of salt to boiling water....ciao. =^^=
