It's great. Very easy to fill and to clean. Super popular with hummingbirds. I was a bit worried about whether they would find it up on my 3rd floor balcony but they flitting on and off of this thing all day long. Often there are even 2 on it at once. The flat design is great because it's easy to see the birds no matter where they perch. Definitely recommend.

I live on the coast of Maine and hung my first bird feeder in February of 2011. Even though there have always been birds here, even I was surprised at how many descended upon my one rather overwhelmed Brome Squirrel Buster Plus. I immediately purchased more seed feeders but I was caught off guard when a male Ruby Throated Hummingbird landed in my yard on a damp chilly day in early May. He looked at me and his expression seemed to say 'I just flew all the way here from Central America. Where's MY food?Of course, I was completely unprepared for him. So, I ran off to the store and discovered the Hummzinger High View. It seemed like a very well thought out design, and it looked to be of high quality. But how would my hummingbird like it? Well, not only did he use it, he often simply sat on the elevated perch for long periods. Soon after, the females began arriving. This led to some skirmishes around the feeder, so three more had to be purchased. The investment paid off. Several weeks later one of the females constructed a nest on a tree limb right next to the house. And so I was fortunate to watch as two new hummingbirds came into the world. The fledglings also happily adopted the feeders.The Hummzinger High View has the following positive attributes:1.) Lifetime Guarantee - Will not break or fade2.) Very easy to clean3.) Flying & crawling insect resistant4.) You can purchase 'Nectar Guard' tips which make the feeder truly insect proof5.) Made in the USA6.) Aspects Inc. is known for excellent customer service7.) This feeder is superior to the hardware store bottle-types in every way. It’s easy to clean, doesn’t leak and the any moat holds much more water so it keeps pests away.The top is all red and I was initially concerned that the hummingbirds would have trouble finding the holes, but they adapted to it immediately.I recommend it without reservation.

Easy to clean and the hummingbirds love them. I have used this brand for at least 25years. Do not put in dishwasher although the too rack with low heat works well! They last a very long time!

UPDATE - OVER ONE YEAR LATER: Gosh, time flies. Weather has been strange in our area, which is on a major migration path for many, many birds. And the migration patterns have adjusted to accommodate the weather differences and fluctuations. So, we've not seen the huge amount of hummers that we have in past years. But I'd like to report that these feeders are still looking good and working well after a solid year of use. We have kept one of the feeders up year-round because we've got a few little guys that toughed it out again through this past winter and stayed with us.Original review follows:I wanted new hummingbird feeders for the upcoming Spring migration. Our old ones are just too hard to clean, and after several season's use they actually won't come clean anymore. I heard good things about this shape of feeder.So far, so good. We have a few hummers that have stayed with us through the very mild winter (we're an hour below Houston) and they have been drinking out of one of our old feeders that is hanging under a pecan tree outside the kitchen window. I hung one of the these new feeders in the same tree. Within a week the hummers have changed over to the new feeder.We have a lot of wind in our area and there is a lot of sway in the lower branches of the pecan tree. This feeder has a reservoir in the center that can catch sugar water as it sloshes back and forth in the wind. The holes are on the top of the feeder and not on the side, so they don't drip. The picture is a bit deceiving in that there is no color in the "flowers" around the holes. In the picture on this product page, it is just the sun's reflection on the raised "flower" that you are seeing.The lid just pops off and there are no little indents or hard to clean ins and outs. It is very easy to clean.The little hummers seem to like to be able to perch on the little railing. They will perch there for several minutes at a time (which of course will all change when the population increases in a few weeks...) With all the wind we have, it sure seems like the perch makes it easier for them to sip.The hanger is included. It is very sturdy and screws in to a metal female part buried in the plastic. The feeder holds 12 ounces and there is a measurement guide in the clear plastic on the side.I knocked it down one star because the lid just pops on, making me afraid that I'll push it down too far and crack the plastic. Also, it seems a little pricey for what it is. But, hey, it will be easier to clean (times four), and--in my world--time is money.

The media could not be loaded. I was impressed by the quality of the feeder, it’s quite thick and sturdy, the design is simple and it’s very effective! I enjoy feeding the hummingbirds and they’ll buzz up to me if their feeder isn’t out, but each one I get ends up overrun by wasps. They’re super aggressive so I really needed something that was leak proof to get them to move on. The clear bowl sits deep inside the red cover and I only filled mine to the 8oz line so if they crawl in the flowers they can’t reach it. So far so good! They’re mad but I’m super happyADDING: it’s essential to keep it at the 8oz mark if you don’t want bees in the liquid! I filled it to the full 12 later and they were able to reach it and one ended up swimming around inside. At the 8oz mark, the bees have finally given up and moved on, and I have three hummingbirds using the feeder daily who can reach it very comfortably.

Super excited about feeding the birds and even though it's late winter, early spring I had noticed a humming bird in my yard collecting some of the dog fur I put in a bush for Bushtits this time of year for their nesting material.So upon seeing this I figured he was setting up shop in the neighborhood and without a flower around he'd need food.Couldn't be happier and he found it right away along with a few others that seemed to come out of nowhere!Easy to fill, and clean. No weird little crannies to get filled with debris. Also dishwasher safe but I don't think I'll put it in there.This is super sturdy and well thought out.They've included an ant moat with built in overflow so if it rains it won't dilute the nectar.The lid along with the raised flowers around the feeding ports she'd rain as well which is great cause man is it ever storing out.I've had it out for a few weeks and in some heavy storm which blew patio furniture clear across the deck and took out branches and nothing happened no leaks and no extra fluid inside. Also has a handy level on the side.A recipe for the nectar is embossed on the inside of the lid.The lid is tight fitting but easy to remove, friction fit.The integrated hook is threaded into a brass nut set into the centre of the ant moat, so it won't strip or break easily if it were just plasticThe underside of the feeding ports have tabs which will hold nectar guards, I really wish that these had been included. It's the only downside ...Would buy this again, and just might have to once the migratory hummers get here in southern BC in a few weeks.
Excellent Product!
Purchased this early last winter and it's been great. Arrived promptly, well packaged so no damage. Have been feeding the wild birds for many years and never saw any hummingbirds until last winter when 2 showed up looking for food. Have had other poorly designed impossible to clean feeders in the past, so did some research and this brand got great reviews. Pricey but well designed, very easy to clean and as others have stated the ant moat and central rain gathering area work well. The resting rail on this version is well situated for the hummingbirds to perch and comfortably feed. Second winter and no sign of damage, use it mid-Oct to mid-March. It has been dropping down to below zero a lot here this winter so I bring it in at night and put it out again in the early am. They seem to come by mostly between 7am-5pm mid Nov-late Jan, and are waiting for me if I'm late! On work days I've been having issues with the syrup starting to freeze up by 10 am or so if the temp is sub zero, solved that by placing an oval reusable gel glove heat pack in a jar lid and duct taping it to the bottom! Hanging a trouble light near it is also an option apparently.
