easy, inexpensive kettle descaler
I use in conjunction with a 50p 'kettle protector' from Wilkinsons - 1 small teaspoon of citric acid in half a kettle of water once a week (leave for about 5 minutes, then rinse, obviously!) and the inside of the kettle stays pristine. Better than any proprietary brand of descaler I've found to date.

Bought this as a stain remover to get rid of tanin stains on China mugs Seems to work reasonably well, but I still had to scrub some mugs even after leaving them to soak with citric acid & hot water in them
Great for descaling kettles!
I bought this after realising that the expensive descaling product that I favoured was just citric acid! So, I half filled the kettle with water and boiled it. Weighed out 75g/2.5oz of the citric acid and poured it into the kettle (it fizzed beautifully!), then after 30 minutes my kettle was gleaming again! I hasten to add that I did rinse, repeat and boil several times before using the kettle again.Its a great product at a fraction of the price of the branded stuff!
Perfect product for cleaning and descaling
Bought this as proprietary brands charge a lot for a little product. Buying like this is far more economical and stores well. You just need to remember how much to use for kettle, shower head, etc. Would definitely recommend
