A few tiny things compared to the original (20+ year older model) made this easier to work with and left me hopeful for a long lifetime of use. Expensive. Annoying to replace. But glad to see that they fixed some obvious flaws that let you easily destroy the older version by turning too hard or too far.

We had a drip in our shower. After watching several you tube videos this part is in many cases is the reason your shower leaks. Make sure you use grease before inserting cartridge. Grohe has great customer service. If you need a diagram or their recomendation call them. Only complain is cost of parts. This is a DIY project. Money saved not having to pay Plummer.

Used this to replace the mixing valve in my Grohe Eurowing tub/shower set. Also replaced the check valves and seals while I had everything opened up. Repair was easily accomplished and went smoothly... except that I had the valve in upside down the first time and had to correct that. Highly recommended.

I had attempted to fix the old unit so I am very familiar with how to install it. I must have put the old one in 5 times and never had a problem. The new one leaked and i was able to figure out it was because the ring did not seat properly. It was lubricated and seated correctly before installation. Pressing in the valve body caused it to shift out of the recess for it and stick out not creating a seal. I had to fiddle around with a screwdriver to get it to go back into its recess while assembling. Something was molded or finished not quite right. Once I got it together it worked fine. This should not have been such a bother to install.

Works as advertised. My headline refers to grohe has 3 different generations of this item and from a picture all 3 are very very similar. Best case find original paper work that came with your faucet and look at specific part numbers.

Part arrived broken. Unfortunately I had taken the diverter completely apart and installed it before I realized that the spindle was completely free and the value was locked open and could not be moved. Waste of 2 hours time due to poor quality control. My fault for not checking because it was obviously defective with the spindle wobbly and spinning free, but this should have been caught before it was shipped.

Worked like a charm, even the knocking went away which wasn't expected. Took me about an hour to get it done and only because I took my time.Edit: Less than 2 years later and it's broken down. I called Grohe and warranty does not apply because I wasn't the one who put in the original system. Their customer service is garbage and accused me of wanting a free replacement when I was calling to find out what the warranty was, such an unprofessional group of people there. Don't buy Grohe!!
Very similar to an equivalent part.
Just a word of caution, the Grohe 47 157 000 Pressure Balance Cartridge,and the Grohe 47 080 000 Pressure Balance Cartridge and almost identical, just thecasing differs slightly for the anchoring of the unit, and they are NOT interchangable.
