Description:
Setting the tool requires only fingertip force since the adjustment mechanism is not under load. There is no need to 'work in' a C series torque wrench before using it the first time. Split-Beam Click Wrenches overcome many of the problems associated with micrometer-style clock wrenches in abusive environments.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Made in USA Torque Wrench
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } The Precision Instruments Torque Wrench is a remarkable tool that I've come to appreciate for several reasons. First and foremost, it proudly carries the "Made in USA" label, signaling excellent quality and craftsmanship. Having used it across a range of mechanical projects, I can attest to its precision and the consistent accuracy it provides when it comes to torque applications. The durable construction ensures that it will remain a reliable companion for years to come, even under demanding usage. What sets this torque wrench apart, in addition to its exceptional quality, is the assurance that you don't have to return the setting to zero after each use, although it's a practice I still follow out of habit. This feature has been quite convenient, saving time and effort during tasks - or perhaps I'm just justifying my laziness. The fact that I can rely on the tool's accuracy and not worry about recalibrating it constantly is a testament to its engineering excellence. Whether you're a professional mechanic or a dedicated DIY enthusiast, the Precision Instruments Torque Wrench is a valuable addition to your toolkit, offering both performance and convenience in one high-quality package.
5.0 out of 5 stars Love this tool
Man, I love the quality of this tool. Well worth the price. American made so it says but just by the durability I believe it is. I almost don't want to get it dirty. I ordered another size of the same item and I love them both. Heavy duty. If you want a tool for life this is where you put that extra money. I'm almost tempted and should have bought the 3 piece set instead of 2 separate sizes bought separately. Go with the 3 piece.
5.0 out of 5 stars Precision Instruments is the epitome of under promise and over deliver!!!
This is easily the best 1/2" drive torque wrench I have ever owned. I own a Precision Instruments torque comparator that I use to check the accuracy of my torque wrenches on a fairly routine basis and this wrench is significantly more accurate than P.I.'s claimed 4% accuracy. Time will tell how the P.I. split-beam design holds its accuracy in the long run compared to my other types of torque wrenches. From conversations I have had with coworkers who I consider highly educated on the topic, these wrenches hold their accuracy very well throughout years of constant use (I will provide future updates as I rack up some mileage). Precision Instruments seems to know how to under promise and over deliver, placing them in league with a very select group of companies in this space. They let their products sell themselves. The feel is superb and the click is distinctive, though a bit on the quiet side at lower settings. I did not personally find this to be an issue, but could see how it might be if your hearing isn't great and you work in a very noisy shop . My only other criticism is I wish it were slightly longer for a wrench that maxes out at 250 ft/Lbs. I find that above 200 ft/Lbs, it can be slightly cumbersome to apply torque smoothly compared to longer wrenches that I own. This really isn't that big a deal but something to consider before purchasing. One last item of note - I emailed P.I. with some questions about this wrench prior to purchasing on Bolo and received a timely, polite, and thorough response to my questions.

Great quality. Accurate. Easy to use.
5.0 out of 5 stars Works perfectly years later
This thing is basically a carbon copy of a Snap-on. Looks and feels exactly the same. Had it for a very long time now with zero issues. I dont usually do a lot of reviews, but I had some time and I was reviewing some other purchases. I would get it again, but it's not broken so I don't need to. Even checked it against a Snap-on on multiple jobs, and a few other techs got them as backup and for side jobs.
5.0 out of 5 stars 95% the same thing as Snap-On made by the company that makes their dual beam torque wrenches for much less money.
Precision Instruments makes the dual beam torque wrenches for Snap-On. In fact this is almost identical to the Snap-On wrench. Other than the ratcheting head with a Snap-On logo and the handle color, they are identical. The Snap-On feels like it might have more teeth. For a 50-150 foot lb torque wrench, I don't really care about teeth. I paid about $150.00 for this and I think the Snap-On version of the same things is about $400 or maybe even more. The nice thing about this is that you flip only a spring loaded latch and adjust a single dial to set the torque. (then flip the protector latch thing back to ensure the setting doesn't change on you) The dial is clear and easy to read. It has Newton Meters and Foot Pounds. It is made in USA. It only works in forward and has no reverse setting. (you shouldn't really take off tough fasteners with a torque wrench anyway)It is calibrated when you get it and has a blown mold case that doesn't take up more room than it needs to. It comes with instructions or kindling for your fireplace if you aren't into that stuff. One of the nicest features of this style torque wrenches is that you do not need to 'unload' it or set it to zero after each use. Some people don't know this but most clicker style torque wrenches should be unloaded prior to storage to keep their calibration. On this one, it doesn't matter either way. If you are always putting on aluminum wheels at 100 foot lbs for example, leave it set to 100 foot lbs. (I do this)For the price, the quality is amazing. The Snap-On one comes in bright green or orange and this one is always blue. It says made in USA just like the Snap-On and works very well. Use the money you save or beer or bandaids for your busted knuckles you get from drinking beer and working on cars.
