I got it for my son away at college and he comes home late at night. The area he is at is heavily populated with deer. We also live in an area heavily populated with deer so I tested it out. Please not that the sonic beeps are continuous as using the product. So I dont see using this in an area where you are around a lot of other cars. This is more for those dark lonely roads at night where deer often jump out. However if you do come upon other cars you just pull it from the cigarette lighter. I liked this one aside from others because of that manual process instead of the other devices where it has to be connected directly into the car's circuitry.

So the first night I used this I put it on the roof thinking that'd give it the most effective range. The rubber covered magnet makes it easy to stick to anything steel. Anyway, since the thing continuously cycles through a range of tones that are both within and beyond the range of human hearing, not only can you hear the audible tones but you can also "feel" the other tones. At least I could. And turning up the radio didn't help. So the next night I put it on the driver's side of the hood, just in front of the windshield wiper. MUCH better. I could still hear it if I listened for it but it wasn't obtrusive at all. I work 2nd shift and drive over 20 miles on 2 lane country roads. Animal strikes are WAY TOO COMMON out here. Some people actually aim for raccoons and opossums but I just can't stand the thought of killing one for no reason. Results: after a couple of weeks the only close calls I've had (3 in total) were all raccoons. They all looked a little sketchy though. They might've been playing truth or dare w their raccoon buddies. Maybe drunk on over ripe apples or something. Hey, I'm not judging. I'm just saying that those particular raccoons didn't seem too concerned as they galloped across the road. Looking right at me the whole time. I've seen cats, dogs, squirrels, skunks, a couple of mice, and lots of deer that stayed OFF the road as I approached though. Even a few people looked twice. I'll say it works on everything except drunken raccoons.

Misleading advertising.nocustomer support magnet will not hold over 60 miles an hour. Left messages no response. Do not purchase this product. It is a little buzzer taped on an undersized magnet and the tape covered half the face of the buzzer. Probably cost $3.00 in parts and assembly. Total waste of time and money. Was looking for an alternative to the whistles. They get the seers attention for a week or so then probably shift or fill with debris. After 3 deer and $7000 in damage I looked for an alternative. The is not it. 🌸

The product does get the attention of animals. However, I had another deer strike while they were breeding, and this one flew over the car and hit the roof and fender. So, if they are on the move, there may be no stopping them. Since I mounted it inside the fender, I am buying another to put on the other side of the car and increase the volume. Hoping that keeps them away.

First off, I have purchased directly from AAA Communications for 20 years . I have given the electronic deer alert to family and friends as gifts. My wife , daughter, and myself have units 15 years old and still working! Recently my unit was stolen from my truck. I saw Bolo had it in stock and ordered one. Came next day. Plugged it into socket and it had very low chirp. I emailed AAA and got an immediate response from Mike Adams that he will replace the unit FREE OF CHARGE. Now that is GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Thanks Mike; Robert Mills , a loyal customer. FYI: They really work. Saved my vehicles dozens of times. Haven’t hit a deer in 20 years.

I have used this product for years and remain faithful to using it year round, especially during deer season. My husband hit a deer years ago with our SUV. The bill for repair was $19,000 and the radiator in the back seat. The product does exactly what it says it will. The deer usually stop and return to the woods. You cannot control it they are dumb and step in front of your car. The whistle decreases surprises. We live in the Ozarks with lots of deer. Deer hunters laugh at my whistle when it chirps. However, the deer stop and listen, then leave. A great product.

Expect a life expectancy of anywhere between 1-5 years, depending on frequency of usage. I use it year-round, and each unit has lasted an average of two years. This little device has saved my bacon many times over. I've seen deer charging towards my path come to a complete stop when they hear the deer alert. It is well worth the $40 price tag!
