I purchased this unit almost 6 months ago and was extremely happy with its performance, but then it stopped working. Since we were going away for several weeks, I shut it off. When we returned, I turned it back on and checked on it several hours later and it was back making ice again. Just prior to dinner, I opened up the ice maker door and steam poured out. It red hot inside and the ice bucket was filled with water.After a quick call to Bolo, they told me it was a 3rd party sale and would get me over to Whyter technical support. I was all set for a “sorry I can’t help you”. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to speak to very lovely person who politely.asked me to explain the problem and take a few pictures of the front & back of the unit and include the purchase & shipping info. She then asked if I would remove it from the cabinet, plug it in and have it go through one ice making cycle and call her back. I called her back and tol her that it did not get hot or cold. It appeared to be dead. She thanked for the info, asked for my shipping address and said they would ship me out a new one within the next few days. A day later she e-mailed me to tell me the unit was ready for pick up and the next day she told me that it was picked up and gave me the tracking info. You never like having a problem with your purchase, but it’s not often that you can say that getting a resolution was quick, efficient and painless. It was. Thank you, Whyter,
1.0 out of 5 stars UIM-155 Icemaker good - Repair support is non-existent - FORCED OBSOLESCENCE
First, reviews for different items by the same company often get lumped together on Bolo.This is for the Whynter UIM-155 icemaker.I have had the UIM-155 for 3 years now, and it continues to make ice without any problems. However it has developed other problems would be easily repairable IF the company supported its product better (or at all).The UIM-155 icemaker does not require a drain or drain pan that needs to be emptied. Just connect a water line and plug it in. The door is reversible, which was great for me as it is near a corner, and I did not want the door to hit my cabinet face.The UIM-155 was not noisy when it was new, just the normal compressor sound you would expect from a mini-frig. However, over the 2 years I have owned it, the fan motor that blows air across the condenser coils has developed a rattle. That is when I found the completely NON-EXISTENT support for the Whynter UIM-155 icemaker.The ZERO support gives you no way to purchase replacement parts to repair the unit. The condenser fan motor is a small part and simple to replace. However, you can't buy one. I find companies that fail to support their supports and their consumers extremely annoying.The same goes for the door gasket. My door gasket developed a crimp following a few months of storage after a hurricane destroyed part of my roof. After hours of research I actually did find the part number for the door gasket (UIM-DRGSKT-011), but it was not available. It tells you to check back, but it has NEVER been available, and I mean for OVER 14 months now. A crimped door gasket means humidity from outside the icemaker seeps inside and forms frost, and then you have to defrost the icemaker. I finally used a heat gun on the gasket and managed to get the crimp out, but this is just another example of the company failing to support its consumers.For over 99% of appliances, you can find a parts breakdown and purchase repair parts for any device still in production. For the Whynter UIM-155, it appears the company is trying to force planned obsolescence on its consumers to make them purchase new units instead of supporting their products and building a loyal fan base.

For the last three years, I've owned an almost identical ice-maker that had a different brand name. It served me well until a compressor seal began going bad. Overall, I was satisfied with the product.This unit seems to be the same except for the power switch. The power switch on my first unit had to be manipulated by hand and was kind of tricky. The power switch on this unit is large and is too easily operated. Since I've owned this one, on two occasions, I have found the power was off due to someone accidentally hitting the off switch with their foot.I'm guessing the makers of this unit must have thought they were improving the design - but they really didn't.Don't get me wrong. So far, it is doing a great job of making ice. I hope it lasts at least three years.

I purchased this Whynter icemaker recently. It worked very well initially making ice, but after I changed the door swing there was a gap in the gasket so it formed ice inside the unit. I called customer service and lucky for me I spoke with Chenie.Aside from being personable, empathetic and professional, she very efficiently walked me through the process of remediation. I provided photos and a video which she shared with her team. I made the appropriate adjustments, but it’s still formed ice inside the unit. Chenie determined that they would send me a new unit with the door hinged the way that I wanted it. As I write this review, the new unit is on its way by FedEx to me.Customer service and a customer service representative cannot get any better than this! I would encourage anyone to order from Whynter and be confident they will be satisfied with their product.Chenie is the best!

DO NOT BUY THIS!!! We have had this ice maker for 3 months. It freezes up and stops making ice. It is past the return time with Bolo. I had to got to the manufacturer and they are not helping. We have been back and forth via email and they keep telling me that we are not meeting all the specks. For example, my water pressure may be too strong (it should be a specific psi. Also they are saying that I have too much humidity in the air. This is in an airconditioned house.Do not risk your money buying this product!! At this point it is an incredibly small freezer that does not make ice and needs defrosting ALL the time!!!!!!!!!Total waste of money!!!

Bought for a boat and this unit fit perfectly in the old space. Makes ice quickly with no melt.

Lo compré en noviembre 15 de 2022 y para febrero 10 ya no funcionó por lo que requiero es que me lo cambien por otro ya que este ya definitivamente no funciona, como hago para que me hagan el cambio
Muy mal producto
El producto presentaba una falla en la tablilla, y es una bronca regresar el producto fue mas fácil mandar a reparar, aun después de reparar, no vale la pena el producto, es muy ruidoso y la velocidad en la que hace hielo es muy mala, toma todo todo el día poder hacer una carga, y todo todo el día hace mucho ruido el congelador.Mejor comprar un refrigerador con hielera es lo mismo para nada es un producto especializado
Did not work Ice mechanizim would not complete cycle
I had a U-LINE ice make exactly the same and paid $ 320.00 then i found this one for $ 544.00 . When it arrived it would not go through the complete cycle , tried defrosting it , unplugging it , adjusting water but nothing worked . Contacted Bolo and they say that they would refund my money due to the fact they no longer have these . So short story long to find another undercounter ice maker the price has gone up to $900.00 and up for the same thing . Ridiculous!
