Saphir makes wonderful products - and you would have no doubt once you use the wax polish. The Pate De Luxe is not as dry as the mirror glass so it is excellent for starting the base layers to get to a mirror shine as the wax gets into the pores of the shoes. In fact, no mirror gloss needed - you can achieve a wonderful mirror shine with the Pate De Luxe as well.

Saphir products are the finest. Saphir waxes & polishes do not contain any petroleum based hydrocarbons which are well known to clog leather pores and cause leather to prematurely degrade and deteriorate. The nutrients and pigments in the Médaille d’Or Pommadier actually penetrate into the leather instead of merely residing as a residue on top of the leather’s surface. This both conditions and helps to retain the deep and rich color of your leathers. The turpentine contained in Saphir products (when containing any) is derived from pine trees, so again, there is no petroleum in any Saphir formulas that will harm your leathers. It is recommended to use Saphir Rennovator before applying Saphir Médaille d’Or Pommadier as a mild cleaner/conditioner and to begin forming the protective layers of waxes that will encapsulate the shoe’s surface. After the Rennovator I apply the Pommadier, and after the Pommadier, I like to use either the Médaille d’Or Pate de luxe High Gloss or the Médaille d’Or mirror gloss depending on the effect I’m going for on the shoe’s cap and heel. Using all three products: Rennovator, Pommadier, and either Pate de luxe High Gloss or the Mirror gloss, not only conditions the leather, but it also creates a protective layer over the surface of the shoe. These products have made my shoes look fantastic while simultaneously protecting and nourishing the leather to increase the overall longevity of the shoes. The Médaille d’Or Pommadier has a very high concentration of pigments and is a very high quality polish. It is well known as being the highest standard of excellence in shoe care and maintenance (as with all the products in the Saphir Médaille d’Or line).

Saphir is the best polish one can put on shoes. It penetrates and nourishes the leather. It's the best polish one can purchase. Since I found out about Saphir (about 10 years ago), it's all I use. The polish and shine are only limited by your own technique. They do make a mirror gloss, and it lives up to its name. I only use that on dress shoes. I've purchased Saphir products for family members. They are amazed with the result. I don't think there are any petroleum products in Saphir. This is only the second can I've ordered of this color. I use it on boots to give them that new fresh look. There are many videos on YouTube of people using Saphir.

I have a closet full of brown leather shoes (maybe too many!). Good but not highly expensive.After years of neglect and me watching a few videos on shoes- most recommended this brand of conditioner or polishes.Once I received this, I nerded out and collected all my shoes and sat down to start bringing them back to life ( while watching football of course).I used a microfiber applicator and swirled it around in the tin.Goes on smooth.Most of my shoes were so dried out i had to apply twice.After a good brushing with my horsehair shoe brush ( if you don't have one - there are good sets on Bolo) they were revived.The one picture with two shoes shows a one with no polish the right one with one application. The other picture is of the shoes I'm wearing at work that I haven't worn in two years because they looked sad.It restores the color and richness of the leather. It also softens them up a bit.The brushing adds a bit of shine but all but 2 pairs really aren't "shiny" shoes. Those two pairs were night and day difference.I really didn't know how important good polish is...and actually taking care of leather shoes.Watch some videos...then get to work. It's actually pretty satisfying and relaxing ( even though my wife just rolled her eyes at me with my stack of shoes).Plus, this tin should last a long time.
