I've been very sensitive to all the iron supplements I've tried all my life and I'm 79 years old. Never have I been able to tolerate them. After having 4 transfusions due to anemia I recently found out that I have a chronic condition that older folks sometimes get that causes anemia. I tried a lot of supplements and immediately had problems. I had a hospitalization recently and needed another transfusion and had an iron infusion also, which is done by IV like a transfusion is. Then I happened to come across this MegaFood Blood Builder here on Bolo so I thought maybe it was worth a try to see if this one would work, but I had doubts. I've been very surprised! I've been taking one a day for 10 days now and not a single problem with it. Ordinarily I'd have had problems within just a couple days. I have to eat something to get the nasty iron taste out of my mouth, but that's a small price to pay for being able to keep taking a pill instead of having more transfusions or IV iron infusions. The "nasty taste" I refer to is that it tastes like licking a rusty iron skillet but what the heck.? I can't taste it if I eat a bite of something after I take it.

LENGTHY BUT WORTH THE READ!!I've suffered off & on with anemia since the birth of my last child (14 years.) But it was not drastic. Even still, I tried to keep in under control. Prescribed iron or iron off the shelf never worked AND they made me constipated. Fast forward to appx 1 year ago, I started consuming large amounts of ice (2 large cups a day.) The cravings then quickly shifted to include corn startch. I literally couldn't help myself. In the meantime, I began to feel overwhelming fatigued, lethargic and out of breath with the slightest of movement. Severe heart palpitations as well. I finally went in bc I thought I was suffering a heart attack. After drawing blood, I was immediately admitted to what became a 2 day hospital stay. My hemoglobin was at a 5.5. Critical is at a 6. Needless to say, I rec'd a blood transfusion at 2 pints. I was sent home with the typical iron prescription, which I NEVER took. Instead, I'd rec'd this product in the mail just 1 day prior to my admittance. So I started taking them religiously. I was all set to see a hematologist a couple months out. In the meantime, my primary monitored my iron levels. By the time my appt came up with the hematologist, it was canceled bc my levels had gone up to a 10.5 all thanks to this product. This was 4 months prior to this review. SIDENOTE: THE ICE & CORN STARTCH CRAVINGS WENT AWAY IN THE 1ST WEEK!!!! I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!!!

I have been trying to find them at my local pharmacies like walgreens but was only able to find it here. I usually take this with an iron supplement in the morning in order for the iron to have no bad effects with my stomach. Since I usually don't have large breakfasts and it sometimes takes me a while before I have time to eat. Would recommend.

Hoping these help with my low ferritin levels. The only downside is that they taste really bad.

I have repurchased these several times now because the ingredients are clean and I needed an iron supplement after previous bloodwork. However they can sometimes taste a bit metallic, I usually have a little something to eat right after. They do not hurt my stomach or cause any issues though and I have seen my iron levels improve in labs since using them.

Last summer I needed iron infusions because as a vegetarian I was not making sure I got all vitamins I needed. I was also D3 and B12 deficient. It’s hard making sure you are getting enough nutrients in your plant based diet. I’ve been taking these since by recommendation of my doctor for a year now and my most recent bloodwork was perfect. These are life changing :) The tablets are large though!

Received two iron infusions with minimal response. My NP, who is my primary, knowing that I would prefer homeopathic remedies rather than more iron infusions, which did NOT deliver a promising effect. Told me about Mega Food Blood builder.No ill effects, no constipation.....We ordered 1 bottle and had labs drawn some time later and my transferrin saturation which was critically low was in the low end but within range. Since then ordered 2 more bottles and pleased with the effect.

I was feeling sluggish all the time and wanted to take a iron supplement because of past issues with my iron levels being low. The Blood Builder supplement showed up first in my Bolo search, and the reviews were great, so I bought it. Well, after a week of taking it every morning, I feel like I have extra "pep in my step." I can't believe the change. I feel like my old, energetic self.

It helps me to have good quality sleep
I have been struggling to have a good quality sleep for quite a white due to stress, new environment and etc, and I've researched that Iron is a big factor on that, so I looked for an organic good quality iron that doesn't taste like rust, or give me stomach disruptions. THIS ONE WAS THE BEST, plus it has food add ons.
