They also include 3 bolt and circular TB gaskets, also some small o-ring which I have no idea what they are for. But they fit really well and are pretty heavy duty compared to the plastic OEM gasket. Haven’t run car to see if they leak but I don’t think they will
5.0 out of 5 stars Better than OEM
My 03 Chevy Tahoe was running/idling rough due to air leaks in the intake manifold gaskets. It was especially noticeable when it was cold outside. If you do a little research you will find that this is an extremely common problem with the 5.3 liter Vortec LS motor. After some searching I found these Fel-Pro gaskets which had great reviews and seemed to be a quality OEM replacement. After purchasing and installing these gaskets I can tell you that they are much MUCH better than the OEM replacements. These gaskets sit in a steel bracket, as opposed to plastic, and sit straight to the top of the motor as opposed to the OEM gaskets that clip on to the bottom of the intake manifold. The rubber gaskets themselves seem to be thicker and meatier than OEM. My original gaskets made it 130K miles and based on the sheer difference in quality I expect these Fel-Pro gaskets to last an additional 200K miles before needing replacement. If you are replacing your intake manifold gaskets do yourself a favor and spend the nominal difference in price to purchase these Fel-Prop gaskets to avoid potential head aches down the road. Also, if you are performing this job yourself I have a few additional recommendations. One, purchase and replace the two knock sensors while you are replacing the gaskets. The knock sensors are pretty cheap and they are easily accessible while the intake manifold is removed. It would be a real pain in the a** if you had to remove the entire manifold a few miles down the road when a knock sensor inevitably goes bad becuase you were to cheap to purchase new sensors. I bought the following knock sensors from AC Delco http://www.Bolo.com/gp/product/B000K02EDG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_12 and they work great. If you do replace the knock sensors I also recommend getting a new wiring harness as the old one will most likely break when you try to remove it. I purchased the following knock sensor harness: http://www.Bolo.com/gp/product/B007H8DKJG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_11 . Overall it took me about 4 hours and $160 to remove the intake manifold, clean the area up, install two new knock sensors and one wiring harness, install the new intake manifold gaskets, and install a new throttle body gasket. The stealer ship wanted $550 just to replace the gasket alone.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great improvement over original design
The original style gaskets have plastic tabs that snap onto the intake. These Fel Pro gaskets are metal and rubber, and they have tabs that hold them down onto the heads by going around the head bolts. You don’t have to remove the head bolts, they simply slide over the head of the bolt and stay securely in place while you set the intake down on them. It also has raised rubber pins that guide the intake into place. It really takes out any room for error. I’m using these on a supercharged motor, and I trust the metal gaskets more than the stock plastic gaskets. Performance is great, no leaks so far. Great deal compared to buying them from the parts store.
5.0 out of 5 stars Great kit, and includes other gaskets, too!
Excellent kit. I chose this over others for my 2000 Suburban because it came with the extra little gaskets. When I did the manifold, I initially didn't know why they were included because I didn't need to remove anything else that these gaskets are used for. That said, 4 days later I have an EGR trouble code, and need to remove the EGR valve to see if possibly got some gunk from the manifold got in it when I removed the manifold. In hindsight, I should have removed the EGR valve when I did the manifold, just to be sure some gunk from the manifold didn't fall down the tube and get lodged in the EGR valve. I now know why they included the EGR valve gasket, and happy they did!At first I was disappointed that the manifold gaskets don't clip to the manifold like the OEM ones do, and was worried they wouldn't stay in place, but the way they are deisgned to sit over the head bolts, makes them sit sit still even if you slide the manifold around. In the end, the manifold gaskets seal well, without issue. I definitely recommend this kit.
5.0 out of 5 stars Same but half cost!
Great kit. Half the cost if bought locally. Includes the injector o rings.
4.0 out of 5 stars Fits great, good price, fixed the issue.
Fit really well, cheaper then the upgraded GM part. Works great, the clip to hold them in place while you wrestle the intake manifold back into place is genius for it's simplicity and effectiveness. On the truck for a few weeks and slight increase in gas mileage and too low idle is gone. Should have done this sooner. The gaskets were replaced when I replaced the knock sensors.
5.0 out of 5 stars Built burly.
This did come with 8 O rings for injectors and 2 styles of throttle body seals not shown in the description.
5.0 out of 5 stars 2014 great fit
I needed to replace my oil pressure sensor on my 2014 Chev Suburban LT. There is not enough room to get my hand back around the engine between the Upper Engine Intake Manifold Cover (GM 12610052) and the firewall to remove the plug in the top of the sensor let alone get a 27mm socket with universal joint and extension down in there. Removing the intake manifold was super simple. If you need help, visit 1A Auto’s YouTube channel to get good directions. This Fel-Pro gasket does not snap onto the intake manifold like the original…instead, you put it on the engine and the metal loops in it fit over the bolt heads….do not remove them. Make sure to clean out around the bolt heads with a screwdriver and slide it down all the way for a great fit. Torque the bolt heads in steps to make sure you have a good seal.
1st attempt at it...took 6 hrs over 2 days but a perfect fit and fix
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3 LTE Z71 212000 miles... I had a lean code on banks 1 and 2 on cold starts and a lumpy idle... several sites suggested it was a leaking intake manifold gasket...as you can see by the attached picture its likely the original gasket that was leaking...it was filthy with several obvious dirt tracks across the sealing surface... so this was my culprit. It took a lot of cleaning, vacuuming and scraping to get that crap out of there but when done it was glorious (wish I'd taken a picture). Anyway I had to dig the dirt and grease and sand off the bolt heads that the gasket slips over but when done the gaskets "snapped" into place. They are considerably more robust than the GM ones with lots of silicone. After reassembly and checking every fastener 3 or 4 times (I didn't want to go in there again). I was done. I cleared the codes and TADA perfect smooth start and no codes on cold start ... which btw is now -37c.I suggest strongly watching several DIY videos on YouTube.. I wouldn't have even tried without watching several. I'd rate it about a 6 out of 10 on the difficulty scale and a 8 on the testing your patience scale...
Well built, with a snug fit
Fit on my 5.3 v8. This gasket doesn't mess around, it has thick rubber seals! Fixed the pirate air causing the performance problems, misfires, poor fuel mileage. Installed in a few hours. Did the job myself.
Awesome gaskets
Very strong metal gaskets , strong secure fit when pressed into position , makes intake and gasket change on the LS motor a little easier
Great gaskets
Fixed the rough/ hunting idle and P0171, p0174, and p0300 on my 1999 Silverado 4.8. idles and runs smooth now. Great quality. I recommend these intake gaskets with the steel over the plastic
Very heavy duty intake gasket
2006 Silverado 6 L had to do knock sensors and changed the gaskets as well. Didn’t use the whole kit, but I have left overs for the next repair I guess
