The new fabric is only about half as 'heavy' as it used to be, and the zippers are more flimsy. Ours were cut well, however, nice and straight, good workmanship, and though they also are shorter than they used to be, the boys decided they were still way better than other shorts we could find locally, so we're keeping them. But it's a pity they sell such a substantially different product without mentioning the changes.
