That and they have always been my favorite cookie. 😉Our favorite gingersnap decided to "New and Improve" their recipe (not!) and removed the ginger from their gingersnap - using ginger "flavor" instead - which really isn't. So time for a new brand.A search for the "best" gingersnap resulted in several lists of 10, and this brand made it on all the lists - along with a few other brands. Next, we did taste tests, and these came out on top. They have a sharp warm ginger bite - stronger than many we tried. This brand sprinkles sugar crystals on top before baking, so they are a little sweeter than our previous choice, but with the extra ginger, it makes a nice balance. They are true snaps, and are crisp, without being hard or tough, just a nice crisp bite that crumbles nicely. They DO need a sealed container for storage to keep them crisp, we like them crisp. They make a great cookie crumb crust for my hubby's favorite lemon pie!If you prefer a soft cookie - more like molasses cookies - then don't seal them in, or pop a a soaked clay sugar-bear in the sealed container for a day or two will do the trick - our youngest grandson is still working on soft foods, so these are a bit hard for him, but he wants his cookies to be like Papa's, so I do this with a few in a separate jar for him.It didn't hurt that Bolo carries these and I can put them on my subscription list, so they come every month to replenish our pantry stock, and we never run out! One less thing I have to think about. There were a couple of competitors that were also good, but for good gingersnap cookies, reasonably priced, and easily available, these won hands down as our new pantry staple.
