Gear oil has friction modifiers that break down normal RTV and cause leaking, but this specialty silicone has been tested to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications to ensure complete sealing power. As a gasket maker it seeks and seals leak paths that cut gaskets cannot. Suggested Applications: Differentials and transfer cases.

The media could not be loaded. Changed the rear differential gear oil on my 2019 F150 by removing the rear differential cover. Used this after cleaning the mating surfaces to seal up the cover and it's been leak free since refilling and driving about 800 miles. A few things to note 1) before opening the rear differential, be sure to first open the fill port. It wouldn't be very fun to remove the rear cover and then discover the fill port is frozen solid. 2) This gasket maker recommends 24 hours to set up before filling with oil. After about 4 hours, the squeeze out was pretty solid, but this series of services performed, and doing this at home made planning for the 24 hours possible. It would be my recommendation to wait, at least over night for this to cure fully. works as described, definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this product, used the ultra grey while doing a sye install and when fluid was added it leaked a lot. When I used their gear oil sealant it worked flawless.

Used this for the diff covers on my 4WD F250. Easy to work with and has created a leak proof seal so far. Just follow the directions. This was enough to do the front and rear diff covers, with a little bit left over.

Used this product on a 2010 ford f150 diffrential. I've used this several times with no issues. One bit of advise, many videos out there on YT and many apply the sealant on the diffrential cover but when you're on your back trying to put it in place, one tend to touch the sealant smearing it. It is much easier to put the sealant on the differential housing first and then putting the cover. It avoids touching the bead of sealant.

Used this to seal the differentials on my Land Rover - works perfectly, as I expected it to do. It's specifically designed to seal compartments containing gear oil. I used Blue Hylomar - a good sealant, but not specific to gear oil sealing - on some other gearbox components & I do have a few small leaks. Well, it's a Land Rover, they do leak - but I think this Permatex Gear Oil sealer is most likely to minimize them! Recommended!

This is the first time I've used this product to seal my rear differential on a f350, could be used on the front differential housing as well.It worked great. It's been a week and no leaks. Easy to use and squeezes out nicely, providing a good seal.Very pleased
