Well designed and Constructed. Wood and hardware nice. Hard to put together. Tiny Allen Wrench not up to task. No written instructions to supplement diagrams which weren't completely clear to me.

The quality of this shelf is the first thing you notice. It’s heavy duty and beautiful. Perfect proportions for displaying books, toys and baskets/bins for storage. Assembly is straightforward if you use your noggin. Just make sure you have all of the sides with the grooves facing the back for the backboard pieces to slide in. I started assembling on the floor but found it easier lining up the pieces with the shelf standing up as it started coming together. This shelf is priced right and meant to last. I will definitely buy again from this company in the future!

Nice sturdy shelf. But it went up $26 within 2 weeks of purchasing. Was going to purchase a second one until I noticed the price increase.
5.0 out of 5 stars A RESOUNDING 5 stars inspite of a faulty Allen wretch
I have purchased 3 ECR4Kids Birch bookcases, two with 8 sections and one with 5 sections. As a soon to be grandmother, I wanted to make sure we had something that would be extremely safe for our soon to be grandchild. These are made with solid wood, the kind you would find in classroom. All 3 of the ones we bought have come with complete pre-drilled parts and easy to follow directions. I have assembled each within 30 minutes. I have not had any issue with the wood splitting while assembling them. They are definitely sturdy, and are made to last for years. Likewise, the wheels seem strong enough to support a heavy load. For each one though, I did have to use a different Allen wrench then the one that came with it. For two of the bookcases the wrench was too small. On one case I actually stripped a couple bolts and had to finish tightening them with a Channellock. The last case I put together, the Allen wrench was too big to fit in the holes. The issue of the Allen wrench is a small matter – it certainly isn’t a reason to not give these bookcases a RESOUNDING 5 stars.

Product seems ok but had a couple questions upon arrival. Customer service is non existent havent been able to get a response in weeks. Wouldn’t reccomend if anything goes wrong because you can’t reach anyone to help.

Extremely satisfied with the purchase. It came well packaged with no damaged board — sth I worried from looking at other reviews. The boards have smooth surfaces that are easy to wipe clean. It comes with literally no smell. I could only smell from two back boards if stay close to them. I let them sit for one night and assembled the next day.The only remaining thing I worry about is tipping hazard. The wheels are very smooth, a plus for moving the shelf around, but I don’t know if it could stay in place if my baby starts to crawl onto it. So far, we keep the my son supervised while he is around the shelf.

Looks nice and quality is great. No sharp edges. Even if it is not fastened on the wall, it is sturdy. There are wheels that came with the package so there is that option to assemble the unit with it.The sizes of the cubbies are perfect for kids’ toys.However, the manual was not as detailed so it was a bit confusing to assemble the unit.
