How the Pregnancy Test Works
When you are pregnant your body produces the pregnancy hormone hCG (human Chorionic Gonadotrophin). The amount of hCG in your body increases in the early stages of pregnancy. The Clearblue Pregnancy Test +/- Results detects the pregnancy hormone in your urine and is over 99% accurate when used from the day of your expected period.1
Testing Directions
Clearblue recommends that you test from the day you expect your period. However, the amount of pregnancy hormone increases rapidly in early pregnancy and Clearblue Pregnancy Test +/- Results can be used as early as 4 days before your expected period. That’s 5 days sooner than waiting until you miss your period to test. If you test before your expected period and get a ‘Not Pregnant’ result, there is still a chance that you may be pregnant and you should test again when you expect your period. The levels of pregnancy hormone in your urine may not be high enough yet to be detected.2
Follow these easy steps:
- Remove the test from its wrapper.
- Hold the Color Change Tip downward in your urine stream for 5 seconds.
- The Color Change Tip will quickly turn pink to indicate it’s absorbing urine.
- A blue line in the Control Window lets you know the test has worked.
- After 2 minutes, read your result.
A + result means you’re Pregnant.

Well I'm not quite sure on the accuracy until my doctor confirms it, but I love the design of this. It's easy to use, and I love how the tip changes colors. I have only tried one out of the box. It ended up being negative so I'll take it again in the morning. I missed my period which promoted me to purchase.PackagingIt came in an Bolo envelope, (as pictured) for those worried about the discreetness. My Mail lady was able to fit in my mailbox. There's an expiration date on the bottom of the item packaging, as well as on each individual test for clarity. I ordered Jan 15, and mine expires June 30th. So I have a little more than 5 months which is plenty of time for me. Also it came with a user guide which more on that later.Trying it outSo I skimmed over the guide. Which might've been why I got a negative. When the tip turns pink you are instructed to wait 5 seconds. Well I didn't. The 2nd small window didn't show any color change (that line shows if the test worked) So I took the cap off and tried again. Then the line showed up. I eagerly waited 5 mins. No change. So apparently I'm not pregnant. I will test again tomorrow with the 2nd one since it could be my own fault for not waiting. So ladies, please make sure you don't get too excited, and rush to the bathroom like me. Haha.Edit: I've tried the 2nd one yesterday, first thing in the morning, and also received a negative. I do have a Drs appointment in place to make sure since my period is still delayed.Edit: I did end up getting my period. Not sure what was going on with the delay. So I can say the result was accurate! Sorry i should've updated this review sooner.

Favorite Brand and Type of Test, Just Wish They Were More Sensitive
I have had really good experiences with this brand and with this particular test.Product Use: For some reason I feel like the addition symbol tests are easier for me to read the results. Maybe it just requires less squinting haha. When it starts to turn positive it is really easy for me to read over other brands. I also have had consistently good experiences with this kind being accurate.Design: Also, the grip is nice and very easy to use and hold. They come sealed well in their individual foil packages.Sensitivity: For me this product usually only turns positive the day before my cycle is due. My strip tests that I get on here from other brands are usually positive for me long before these are. However, when I have used it around the last day before I am to start the results were clear. In the past I liked to follow these up with one of their digital tests that say pregnant or not pregnant because it just feels kind of final and then I am on to the doctor for bloodwork.Packaging: The box for these usually arrives pretty dented. A flat design would probably work better.Overall, I really like these and they are my go to when I am ready to know a final answer. For me they were a little more expensive than some of the other brands available on here in the same product type category. I took the test and the result came back negative very quickly. And then of course, a few hours later, I get my period. Love how that happens lol. At least you’ll know it’s accurate!
