This product is designed to remove carbon from cookware. However, I needed to remove carbon from some engine pistons and heads. I cannot use anything abrasive as the grit would negatively affect ring seal. I could not use anything corrosive as I did not wish to affect the metal surfaces or sealing. This product, while expensive, 100% cleaned my engine parts without any damage. Just use in a ventilated area as it gives off ammonia vapors when disturbed.

Come in the consistency of a sinus infection, and with the odor of an uncleared kitty litter box (amonia). But it WORKS! I tried this on car paint and within 6 mins, the paint and the primer beneath it were shredded, literally. I'm not effusive in my reviews normally, but this is EXACTLY what the doctor ordered, and it's awesome at paint removal!

I couldn't give 5 stars as this product doesn't work quite as well as advertised on heavy carbon buildup as shown in their skillet photo but it beats anything I've tried on cleaning bbq grilles. It took a full gallon and 3 overnight applications to get most of the carbon/grease buildup off our grille. Only use this outside or with plenty of ventilation as it has a very strong ammonia odor. I will use this product again.
